he just noticed a fly in his tea but isn’t rlly that bothered tbh

There’s nothing sweeter than my babyI’d never want once from the cherry tree

         every day since the half-orc had sailed away, they’d visited the dock; workers knew them by sight, and he greeted them by name with each rising and setting of the sun– they didn’t fret when day came that ship should have come in; such was the nature of treacherous waters, and they were more than some newly-fledged sailor’s wife.

         they waited, sure as the tide; they comforted the little flowers whose hearts bloomed for their own sailors bold, and they sang; a siren’s song to bring lover back to safer waters. they sang, and they smiled with faux-divinity, for all their horns and tails, they were the picture of celestial peace on the docks.

         soon as the ship came in, the tiefling was at the edge of the walkway, heedless of shouted warnings- gaze locked unhesitantly on the one who so surely held their heart– laughter, warm, rich, and so full of sweetness like honey, when fjord dropped from ship’s side; and steadily they caught him as legs adjusted to being on land finally. gentle, slightly trembling arms went up & around their lover, securing him in place as though afraid he’d vanish if they didn’t hold onto him tightly enough. looking towards the horizon, they spared a gentle prayer of thanks to the sea; be it divinity or fate’s hand, they were glad all the same to have him in their arms again.

      ‘you’ll have to make it up to me, obviously.’ breathless response as the gilded beauty drew back, tender kiss given despite the whistles and cheers from all around them; the tiefling and half-orc were hardly the only pair te be sharing such a sweet reunion, but the tiefling still flushed, though their soft smile stayed firmly in place.
