hello  and welcome !!   this   is   an   independent   &&   highly   selective   rp   blog   for    𝚗𝚒𝚔𝚘𝚕𝚊𝚒 𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜𝚘𝚟   of   the   grishaverse   meaning   that  i   will   only   interact   with   mutuals .  it  will  be  relatively  low  activity  due  to  real  life  commitments  but  my  ims  are  always  open  for  plotting  and  general  discussions .

Monty half expects the other man to fumble for an excuse and leave as soon as possible ( it wouldn’t be the first time that it ends like this after they both got their pleasure once ), but Nikolai seems to have no inclination to do so whatsoever. Instead he’s coming closer and the wave of panic only picks up speed. What does he do now? Well, distracting by engaging the prince in conversation of course. “Oh, I assure you I won’t! You simply must teach me  a few of those Russian words at some point. Surely I’d excel.” His poor results in Latin and French he’d gotten at Eton would disagree, but that hardly matters anymore.

A quiet laugh escapes the young gentleman at Nikolai’s bold assumption, though he rather likes it. “And if I did? Seek your company and haven’t stopped thinking about you?” The game of banter and suggestion is one he understands well. Monty arches his eyebrows, while staring up at Nikolai and tries not to think too much about the little distance left between them.

the  other  doesn’t  back  down   ,          playing  into  the  dangerous  game  that  has  developed  between  them  ever  since  their  first  meeting .   it  spurs  Nikolai  on ,   giving  him  the  confidence  to  take  the  final  step ,   crossing  the  line  between  propriety   &&   scandal .   if  someone  were  to  see  them  like  this  . . .   not  that  the  prince  ever  found  the  need  to  worry  about  rumours   (   no  matter  how  true  they  were   ) .

He hasn’t felt like going inside yet and so Monty has mumbled an apology and disappeared into the gardens. It’s not like anyone is truly going to mourn his absense at the ball. Since Eton he’s hardly a suitable match for most of the young ladies and while not being hunted by them and their overbearing mother can be quite a blessing, he still notices some of the disapproving looks. Truth to be told - they cut deeper than Monty would ever dare to admit.

The familiar voice not far away startles him out of his thoughts. In the half light Monty makes out the shape of the russian prince, Nikolai. A sudden wave of panic washes over him. Surely the prince wouldn’t appreciate his company after what happened between them at the last ball. ( who would after all? ) Yet - as per usual - his mouth is quicker than his mind. “I didn’t understand a word of what you just said, but my bet would be … something filthy?”

Nikolai  startles   ,           the  familiar  voice  cutting  through  his  jumbled  thoughts  in  a  welcome  distraction  once  he  recognises  the  young  man .   composing  himself ,   the  prince  puts  on  a  charming  smile ,   hands  placed  neatly  behind  his  back  as  he  approaches  the  other  with  an  air  of  intrigue   . . .   his  earlier  outburst  long  forgotten .

captain hook didn’t make habit of getting attached to individuals he could honestly say he missed, but every once in awhile someone slipped through the cracks like grains of sand. someone that knocked loose a killian jones of days long since buried. he grins now, meeting the charm of his comrades smile in tow.

             “long enough to forget your face, aye. you’re nearly as handsome as i remember. not quite as dashing,” he scoffs, clapping his hand on nikolai’s shoulder where he squeezed. “we both know i’m not fit for a life in the court, your royal highness. could you imagine me cleaned up and prancing about like one of your fine horses?” killian’s gaze casts out to overlook the sea, the sun cresting just along the horizon.

“i couldn’t leave her behind for long. which reminds me,” his tongue clicks against the back of his teeth. “now should you ever get an itch for the high seas again, i could use a first mate that i trust on my crew.”

❛     you  wound  me   ,   ❜             though  the  picture  of  offence  he  is  not ,   instead  fondness  sparks  in  hazel  eyes  as  he  regards  his  companion .   ❛   I  always  believed  my  face  to  be  quite  memorable .   maybe  you  should  take  a  better  look .   ❜   a  tease ,   lips  upturned  into  a  charming  smirk  as  he  turns  his  back  towards  the  horizon  and  leans  against  the  railing  instead .   ❛   I ,   for  one ,   would  love  to  see  you  in  an  expensive  frock .   although ,   I  must  admit ,   black  suits  you  well  enough .   besides ,   I  think  you’ve  been  holding  out  on  me ,   Killian .   I’d  wager  half  my  kingdom  that  you’re  an  excellent  dancer .   I’ve  seen  how  you  move  with  a  sword .   ❜ 

but  he  calls  at  the  Bridgerton  estate  anyway ,   the  doorman  giving  him  a  rather  displeased  once - over  before  disappearing  into  the  house .   evidently ,   Nikolai  looked  enough  like  a  drowned  dog  to  not  even  be  allowed  inside .          

with  one  last  charming  smile ,   the  prince  escapes  to  the  garden .   a  breath  of  fresh  air  before  going  back  into  the  fray .   a  moment  to  gather  his  wits .   he  should  be  enjoying  this   &&   yet  such  false  sentiments  do  nothing  but  sour  his  mood .   he  lets  out  a  few  curses  in  his  mother - tongue ,   hoping  no  one  heard  him .   &&   even  if  they  did ,   no  one  would  understand  him  anyway .

❛   long  enough  to  be  missed ,   I  hope ,   ❜           a  notoriously  charming  smile  is  offered  to  the  other ,   hands  braced  upon  the  ship’s  railing  before  his  gaze  returns  towards  the  endless  expanse  of  water .   he  has  certainly  missed  the  freedom  that  came  with  posing  as  Sturmhond ,   the  adventure  that  filled  his  heart  with  the  thrills  that  he  lacked  as  a  second - born  prince   . . .   &&   a  rumoured  bastard  at  that .

❛   do  you  think  you’ll  be  doing  this  forever ?   I  mean ,   I  certainly  know  of  its  appeal  but  should  you  ever  consider  a  change ,   my  court  could  use  someone  like  you .  ❜   he  turns ,   giving  the  pirate  his  full  attention ,   ❛   I  promise  you  won’t  be  disappointed .   ❜
