diner coffee and ashtrays

this is my first time logging into this in like 6 months! hi everyone who still recognizes this username :)

since i last was on here, a lot of things have happened... i guess! i got promoted at my job and am now a producer. i like it, but it’s a looooottt of work. my free time is devoted to answering emails and going out with clients (including many boat trips sailing around manhattan). so it’s fun, but also exhausting. i’m not sure how long i want to be a producer.. or if this is even the field i want to be in. but for me being 25, i’d say i’m doing okay.

also, i turned 25! kind of a monumental birthday honestly. i feel old.

i’ve been dating the same wonderful person since may of last year. things are pretty ~official~. we actually haven’t talked about our relationship much, but i think it’s because we both really like each other and are scared to ruin it. we just get along so well. i feel like i would never have a reason to argue with him or anything because he is perfect. the nicest, most caring human being. i actually feel like i might kind of love him, but have no idea how to bring up telling him that. things with him have moved really slow, which i appreciate considering how fast things moved in my last relationship. it’s just so refreshing. we went to bermuda together in may and have a trip to curacao booked in february. i’m very optimistic about what’s to come.

as for new york, i feel like i am done with it here. i’ve moved to a new apartment in harlem which i love. the area is adorable, tons of restaurants and coffee shops around (so unlike astoria). this summer has been overwhelmingly hot and disgusting. it makes me miss home and california and my family so so much. my sisters brag to me almost every day about their short work commutes and their huge apartment a mile away from the beach. i feel like if for some reason i was still living here this time next year and didn’t have any real attachments (eg: the guy i mentioned above was no longer in the picture.. which i hope would not be the case) i would move back home. or at least somewhere not as hot, ugh. the good news it that i may take this man with me when i move, because he’s done with new york too.
