Chickens at the opera house are bitches.
At the Joan Sutherland Theatre, which exists within the Sydney Opera House in Australia, there was a net installed above the orchestra pit during the 1980s after a chicken unexpectedly walked off the stage and fell into the orchestra pit, then landing on a cellist during a performance of the opera Boris Godunov. The net is still there, but its size has reduced over the years since the incident.
I repeat: they had chickens on the stage during an opera performance in the 1980s and a chicken just fell onto a cellist because he walked off the stage and this is the only time when I wouldn't have expected this from Australia. The one time.
Side note as someone who is terrified of birds and plays violin + was in multiple orchestras: I hope that cellist got free therapy afterwards. Chickens are terrifying my dude and it wasn't expected in the slightest.
