And she was pretty, she was. But she was more than just pretty, she was. The word ‘pretty’ felt inadequate when held up to her. Her skin was pretty, her hair was pretty, her eyes were astonishingly pretty, and her words were even more pretty, but she? She was so much more than pretty, she was. She was the kind of pretty that most minds do not know how to comprehend. She was the kind of pretty that people stopped and listened to. She was the kind of pretty that didn’t know how to sit still. She was the kind of pretty that wasn’t simply pretty. I’d call her beautiful, but even that seems inadequate. She was just, her. So much more than pretty, so much more than beautiful, everything that we know to be spectacular, compressed together in one pretty little mind.
