VALENTINE’S DAY.     /    NOT  ACCEPTING !    /    @truthlie

        it would be unfair to say that           farrah  isn’t  popular.   farrah  has  friends,  or,  at  least,  a  social  circle.   farrah’s  on  the  cheer  squad,  as  the  one  member  who’s  known  for  being  dropped  on  her  head.   she’s  pretty,  she  knows  how  to  party,  she  should  have   plenty   of  prospects  for  a  valentine.  and  in  theory,  she  does.   in  theory,  farrah’s  tossing  and  turning  at  night  wondering  how  in  the  world  she’s  going  to  let   SO   many  people  down  when  they  ask  for  dates.    it’s  not  easy  being  the  person  she  pretends  to  be.

                      and  when  farrah  arrives  to  school  the  next  day,   she  walks  down  the  pink  and  red  halls  with  her  regular  attitude.    her  locker  may  be  empty  of  cards  and  heart  candies,   but  the  flask  in  the  third  compartment  of  her  backpack  is  filled  to  the  brim  with  something  that’ll  surely  make  her  forget  this  stupid  holiday;   with  something  that’ll  surely  make  her  forget  how  lonely  she  is.  

       it would be fair to say that                farrah  isn’t  well  liked  among  her  peers.    this  makes  aaron’s  gesture,  simple  as  it  is,   her  saving  grace.    she’s  come  to  watch  north  shore’s  practice  just  because  she  can’t  day  -  drink  at  cheer.    she  skips  her  team  obligations  entirely,  trades  being  yelled  at  by  upperclassmen  girls  to  watching  upperclassmen  boys  kick  a  soccer  ball  around.    not  yet  buzzed,  farrah  stuffs  her  flask  back  into  its  hiding  place  when  she  sees  aaron  approaching.   she’s  about  to  messily  defend  herself  when  she  sees  he’s  also  got  his  backpack,   and  is  pulling  something  out  of  it  as  she  stumbles  over  her  words.   a  light  gasp  escapes  her  as  she’s  presented  with  the  stuffie   -   a  snow  white  bunny  holding  tight  to  a  heart.
