Both Dark Cacao and Golden Cheese I could see having voices of guilt... Cheese made those voices come to life. Her dearest treasures. She couldn't bare all that bright life to go dull and still.
Dark Cacao I can imagine being haunted by voices of guilt and paranoia as well. Pressuring him to build a fort in the unforgiving cold mountains and a wall against the monsterous liquerish sea... And guilt for not being a better father.
Holly... I wouldn't be surprised if her drinking was also to drown out some voices.
