Sometimes when you spend too much time lost in fiction, you tend to fictionalize the reality around you — like fictionalizing yourself, fictionalizing people around you — so much to an extent that you fall in love with the made up version of a real person. Maybe even to an extent that you might even become blind to the fact that in actuality that person is not at all right for you.
At the same time you are aware that this person is not meant for you — you know you are not a fool to be that oblivious.
But the battle that your brain fights between fantasy and reality makes you want to believe in the potentiality — the potentiality that maybe what you imagine will one day become real.
And when you are holding on to this possibility, you unknowingly (or knowingly) give away your heart to the future version of the person without the guarantee of what the future holds with the hope that someday 'maybe' changes into 'finally'.
And I guess that's how falling in love with the idea of love'works.
