you and jaemin ran hand in hand around the dock, the lively carnival around you. jaemin basically dragged you to one of the game booths. “i’ll win something for you.” he says, handing money to the booth vendor. the game jaemin chose was a ring toss game.

you watched as jaemin threw ring after ring and making it onto the bottles. he turned and gave you a grin, and you looked at him in shock. jaemin picks a teddy bear as his prize and he gives it to you with a grin. “why are you so surprised?” he asks.

“i didn’t think you’d win a prize.” you answer honestly, jaemin letting out an exaggerated gasp. “do you not believe in my skills y/n?” he asks, feigning hurt. “shut up you dork.” you joke, playfully hitting jaemin on the arm.

the two of you continued to walk around the carnival, occasionally playing games and riding rides. eventually the sun had started to go down and the sunset was beautiful. you and jaemin had gotten tired and after sharing a third bag of cotton candy, you both decided to ride one last ride.

jaemin nearly dragged you to the ferris wheel, quickly getting in line and wrapping his arms around you. jaemin handed the worker the tickets before sitting down with you in the ferris wheel seat. jaemin intertwines his fingers with yours and you lean your head against his shoulder.

the ride starts to move and the sun lays on the horizon, reflecting in the water. you watch the sunset as the ride takes you up. you nearly jump in shock when you and jaemin stop at the top of the ride. “it’s okay y/n. i’ll protect you.” jaemin says, pulling you closer to him and you laugh.

“i’m fine jae, the ride just stopped suddenly and it also doesn’t help that we’re at the top.” you say, looking down below you. jaemin moves his hand to your chin, moving your head to not look down. “don’t look down silly.”

the two of you look at the view from the top of the ferris wheel, admiring the sunset and the ocean. “it’s beautiful.” you mutter, feeling jaemin’s hand squeeze yours. “beautiful like you.” jaemin says cheekily.
