Library garden first session of the year today. Five people clearing willow branches brought down by the storms and raking millions - no exaggeration - of sycamore wings. Lovely to see some colour at last, though much later than last year.

The path in February 2016. Will see what is there this year.
October 2016. Roses still in bloom. Now just waiting for spring.
The lobelia I this trough are still thriving. They obviously love the position. Must remember this for next year. More raking of leaves again today. The Autumn colours are amazing.
A few more pictures taken this summer. Really pleased with how well the hebes and hostas have developed in The two storey trough that Colin created. Looking good against the brick wall.

Lovely new hydrangea in the broken blue pot. My photos are now linked to Tumblr. Hurrah
Trouble loading pictures
I took several pictures of the garden yesterday but have had trouble loading them. Trying a different route now.
Hot, hot hot
Lynne and I went to the garden today and had a fight with the hose! We did eventually remember / work out which part to use to turn it on and off but only after several attempts, resulting in water spurting on us as well as on the garden. An unusual way to cool down.
āHopeā is one of my favorite mini-hosta. This is the first year itās flowered. Was never sure it was going to make it!
But your hope was well founded. It should flower every year now.
Another successful event at the library garden. This year the Plant Swap was linked to Refugee Week. People donated plants and cash. @bedslibraries

Jen, Lynne and Chris all worked on tidying the main bed this week. Promise of lots to come, though some of last year's unusual tulips have disappeared. The yellow ones are thriving and just a single white one.
Tulips looking even more colourful. My favourites are the deep magenta ones. Hope to post a pic of these each week now.
A few more shots. Just a hint of the lovely, pale blue, iris which delighted me last year. So glad to be fit again and able to really appreciate the unusual bonus of a library with a garden. #libraries #nature is good for us
Two views of the main flower bed. Thunder clouds threatened but rain stayed away long enough for me to get lots of photos today. No work in the garden this week, instead we visited the community garden at The Copse, Goldington, and met the volunteer Jim. A great inspiration! Hoping we can cooperate over the Plant Swap in June.
The tiny cyrinthe seedlings that Lynne brought from her garden are flourishing. Looking forward to seeing the flowers as they get larger, but even theses leaves are attractive.

Not sure how this tulip found its way into the pot with the rosemary!
Violets under the sycamore. Even though the grass was mowed a couple of days ago. Perhaps I should have weeded it the dandelion. #wildflowers
