Thee Squared Circle Pit

Uuuugh !!! - I had to move this stuff to Tumblr for the time being as:

Anyway, I started blogging about the very deep and REAL Rock n' Wrestling Connection with the name Squared Circle Pit which I came up with back in  November 2010. My blog came up at least 80% the time when you image searched “Kevin Sullivan + Satanic”. The lot of the images I posted were from 80′s magazines I still have. Some fantastic fate from the betel nut once pointed me in the direction of a thrift store which had a stack of wrestlin’ mags from 1982-1985 with the majority of ‘em of the proto-corpse paint-era of Kevin  Sullivan.

Lest I forget - I also wrote about the Kevin Sullivan-Sullivan’s Army of Darkness connection to the Florida thrash-power metal band, Nasty Savage (who also loom large as an influence on the first wave of Florida death metal like Morbid Angel. Obituary and Nocturnus) for the excellent right-now era ‘zine The Atomic Elbow’s second issue. T.A.E. is currently up to issue #29. Plus, T.A.E.’s founder & editor often guests on my absolute fave wrestle podcast The Old School Wrestling Podcast which goes back to at least 2010 as well. So, put that in yer copy of “Lords of Chaos”.

Please keep in mind the (granted it's a waaay bigger site with a ton more money and influence - neither of which I have at only the tiniest of levels) started that site and podcast feature in 2016 for the podcast and I believe it was the same year they used that as an article feature on their site. So, let it be known -  I was SIX YEARS AHEAD OF 'EM!

Certainly, there's an absurd amount of wrestle-info out there and at least 10 or so YouTube channels dedicated only to shoot interviews. Anyway, I'm gonna continue finding more and more connections to rock n' wrestling the Metal Injection crew haven't even thought about but this is more of telling a much bigger story and not how it just relates to 2-3 genres of music.

I was also inspired to start this again as about a month ago a rather good Chicago band Pledge Drive (who play ohh...I guess I ‘d call ‘em modern post-punk & no wave) played in my city (Columbus) and I talked a lotta wrestlin’ with their very cool singer, Kelly (who’s also wearing the WWE.Universal Championship belt on their Bandcamp pic).
