I saw a lot of people from a Reddit thread talking about how they don’t like Shinsou’s character in context of fanfic, and I feel like their missing the point???

Like, the whole point of fanfiction is to change the universe to your whims

And a lot of the complaints were that Shinsou kind of sucks in cannon and that he was whiny, and people don’t capitalize on that. While I get that, he’s a character that made like, five appearances total. Let people expand on that a little, give him some character. It’s not like people saw Midoriya being a vigilante at 13, or Todoroki becoming meme Jesus at any point in the manga.

Its really interesting that, similar to how words in languages like fernweh in German (the longing for distant places) and gigil in Filipino (cuteness aggression from what I understand), cringe has no direct translation.
