The World of Trixaria

So... I have been wondering of what "shrine" and "shrines" are referring to in the realm of indie web and people who code their own indie sites. I learned that a shrine is a dedicated page (within your site) to anything you happen to like or find fascinating: from gaming and movie characters, to metaphysical phenomena, botany or why not your passion for creating doll clothes?!

It can literally be something you care about and have special interest in, from minor things like your fascination with rainbows and the science behind them to a whole fandom wiki about your worldbuilding in your upcoming fantasy novel!

A shrine often stands out from the rest of the site because it often has a different layout from everything else. So the webmaster/coder usually builds up a layout that matches the topic they're going to build the shrine about.

For example one of my shrines is about goth culture. So the layout and theme looks completely different from my regular site layout, so it matches the topic, which is everything goth.

I think this is a good way to understand who you are as a person. A dedicated space that you've built, with everything that is interesting to you! It's like being a little queen in a little fairy land. The feeling, I mean... And visiting each others sites are like visiting our homes in the physical world. We shoud treat websites more as virtual livingrooms!

A little note so you don't get confused... My username used to be TriciaMarieDev but I've now changed name to Trixaria because I mostly go under the name Trix online (and offline!) and I wanted the username here to match my hand-coded website for all my hobbies (www.trixaria.com) since I very much treat my Tumblr the same way!

I've been so tired and bored of social media lately. I only use Bluesky and TikTok occasionally. And now Tumblr again after talking with my lovlies @mycurrentobsessionstuff @lilythepurple @chloe-elizabeth-price . Shoutout to them!

Anyway, I used to hang out here in my adolescence but then it fell off. Now back. But aside from Tumblr, most social media feels boring.

So! I've going all in to build different pages with code. You know, like it was in the old days where there were no web builders. You had to know code to build a site! I remember creating my first website with code, a kinda advanced site as well, at age 10 or 11.

I don't really care if my coding projects look amateurish. That's kind of the point. I'm so sick of polished social media, and I'm so darn tired of productive lives and people with pretty feeds.

I want to be creative online, not tied back by the limitations of social media when it comes to customization and personalization! That's why I use social media sparingly and hang out more on the indie web...

I don't say I won't use social media at all, especially since I have found a new love for Tumblr now, but I think the same people who are on Tumblr are the one's who build stuff for the indie web...

So I've found a really great "solution"! I will use this Tumblr page for my coding projects and digital art. And maybe for my other obsessions in life. Just as I treat my Trixaria site.
