every time someone bottles Rhodey Rhodes down to "mature military guy" and "Tony's Bucky" an angel loses its wings.
they are literally the Terrible Two, the Little Shit Twins, they enable each other and are just as bad as one another, Rhodey getting Bruce to bow in front of T'challa is literally the same as Tony poking Bruce in Avengers Assemble, they both poke the bear, they both make messes (and heaven forbid they make them together (cough Malibu Mansion)). "Rhodey's mature and doesn't put up with Tony's antics" it took less than 30 seconds for him to break and laugh and grin like an idiot at Tony's jokes in a court hearing on live television when he was supposed to be a Military representative, shakes you THEY LITERALLY JUMPED THE FENCE IN SYNC IN AOU YOU KNOW DAMN WELL THEY DID THAT SHIT IN COLLEGE [PT: they literally jumped the fence in sync in AOU you know damn well they did that shit in college /End PT] Rhodey makes just as many quips and sarcastic remarks as Tony does, they just have different reputations in-world, and have different ways of going about serious situations. They'll both get in line when shits going down, Tony will make quips and jokes about it, Rhodey will do it less, but their actual physical actions are the same, Rhodey isn't more mature than Tony, they're just different people, both of whom are little shits.
You just know they're the type of guys to do rock paper scissors over literally any task they both can't be bothered to do, they both pull the "Tony/Rhodey started it" shit.
