Critters And Other Things

Solo and her new owner met each other today, and I know they will become very close. My co-raised adolescent mouse is 5 weeks old, and although small, is very healthy and oh so calm. Solo’s new owner also received a lovely young blue point Siamese and a Burmese doe. All three mice have bonded in the weeks we were waiting for Solo to become old enough to leave home. I will miss this little sweetheart, but know she deserves a home where she will be a cherished pet.

Solo seems to enjoy my hand more than the wide open spaces of the table top. Isn’t it amazing how quickly mice grow? She is 23 days old, and already an adolescent. January, 2023.

My little friend Solo is growing up. She is 21 days old now, and is sampling solid food. Her size and weight is roughly half of what she would have been had she received the benefits of her mother's milk. This small but healthy, active, and inquisitive youngster will soon have a wonderful home as a cherished pet.

This is Solo. She is 9 days old. She was the only baby in her litter. On day three she had grown thin because her mama could not produce enough milk for her. I began supplemental feedings with puppy milk replacer, and now her tummy is round and she is growing nicely.

Here is a litter of 2.5 week old mice and their dam. There are eight of the little darlings. It looks like mama tried to take a little vacation from them.
