Progress Not Perfection

After I buy something online, why are all the ads I see for what I just bought online? Bugs me...

I am on my school districts, "Book Reconsideration Committee." This is one of the books that the committee is reviewing due to a parent complaint after seeing it in one of our high school libraries. I'm about half way done with it and yes, I can honestly see where a parent might have concerns about it. I honestly do.....the topic, language, and theme of the book definitely isn't for every student, but is it the pornography the complaint made it seem? No. I get that there is literature out in the world that should not be in a school library, but I think the bar for removing a book from a school library should be pretty high and not done lightly.

A copy of the complaint report was included in the packet that I received with the book, and the answer to two questions stuck out: 1)"What brought this resource to your attention?" Scrolling through Library. 2) Have you read (or watched, if a video) the work in its entirety?" No

If you don’t think football is life. Then you don't know football. Or life.

I haven’t written a blog post in years. Hell come to think of it, I haven’t written anything longer than a paragraph in years either...so here goes nothing.  Since this is my first post I suppose I should introduce myself...”Hi”. There, now that’s done lets move on. Seriously, I am a teacher, a special education teacher to be more precise. I hate saying my age, because my age number seems so foreign to me....I literally have to stop and think about how old I am, and then it just doesn’t seem real to me. It’s like I’m only my age when I stop to think about my age.....if that makes any sense.  I just always feel like I’m always in my thirties.

I’m divorced. Twice divorced to be exact. I really don’t think I’m planning on going for a third round, but nothing is absolute. I just seem to be a shitty relationship person, so won’t sit here and pretend that I don’t share part of the blame for both my marriages going down the shitter. I also will tell you that I have not been in anything that would resemble a serious relationship in years and instead seem to have chosen to get involved with relationships that were failures before they ever began...I’ll explain that in another blog. 

Please take this blog from the angle of; 1. I’m a man. 2. I’m single in every since of the word.  3. If I ever get anyone to follow this mess, I would like opinions on how to be single and live my best life, because although I’ve been single for years, I have been self-conscious about it and missed out of a lot of what life has to offer.
