Sometimes Cassie wonders how they got here. Their relationship hadnât been the easiest at the beginning. Clashing ideologies had been a huge part of who they are, well, who they were. For the most part it was fun, getting to discover his almost too clinical mind with her own that was wide open to the world. But she supposes that is the reason why it worked out. The differences between them had opened up paths that Cassie herself hadnât even seen coming. Which is saying much when it is considered how she has such an outlook to life other peoples arenât privy too. Sam had challenged her just as much she has challenged him and in that process of trading words and even punches from time to time, they have found a balance that wouldâve been impossible to find with anyone else. They made each other better, and thatâs all Cassie couldâve ever hoped for.
That is the reason why everything between had blossom in such a way that have them here today, married. Theyâve become each otherâs most fierce advocate, each other lifelines but most importantly, they keep each other grounded. It helps that both of them have a clear vision of the world, while accepting the other way of seeing everything. Love isnât always colored rose, it heals but it also breaks open. It compliments but also deconstructs. It paves the way to happiness without letting you forget the pain that had lead you there. But Sam... She has it all, and she thanks her lucky stars every day for having someone that makes her feel whole.Â
âWhich makes you the perfect husband.â And that was not a lie. Though they both have their faults, she cannot deny that Sam had always had a good head on his shoulders. Thoughtful, trustworthy, dependable, loyal... It was a few of the many good qualities Sam had going for himself. Made Cassie fall in love with him every day more. At the beginning, when her heart ached and her mind was at odds with it, Cassie had a hard time fine tunning her actions in accordance to her emotions. There hasnât been a man in her life that had made her feel everything in the span of such a short time. Yes, Jake had been in her heart quickly but there was a huge difference between him and Sam. This amazing man, father, doctor, human, had filled spaces in her heart that had been long in the darkness and she doesnât consider herself as someone who has negative space in her heart but as a human being, sometimes it impossible to not feel it from time to time. Sam had cure places she didnât even know existed.Â
A laugh escaped her lips, head shaking briefly. âI may have an unfair advantage.â She trails off for a moment, hand reaching for his face. Thumb caress Samâs cheekbone briefly before she adds, âI was a teenager once.â And a wink follows suit. Cassie doesnât like to think about her teenage years as much, she certainly had a lot of sadness to contend back then but time had given her the tool to deal with it better and as that time moved, carrying her with it, she had learned that even the bad moments had built her to be the person she is today. Someone she is proud off. Someone who can help as much as she can because she knows well how is it like to not have a helping hand when it was needed it the most.Â
She misses his touch almost instantly, prompting her body to gravitate towards him almost immediately. His nearness had always felt like a safety blanket. His response is caused enough for her brow to raise, clearly understanding the double entendre of it. âClearly exercising is on your mind.â
