An architectural landmark and a haven for modern art, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum (WAM) is an unforgettable statement on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities campus. This museum is special because it not only houses artworks from some of the biggest names in modern art, but its personal mission is to educate students and make art less intimidating by making the museum as accessible as possible. 

WAM has free admission and flexible hours, so students can wander in during their lunch breaks to see works by Marsden Hartley, Georgia O’Keefe, and Charles Biederman. WAM also has a large variety of programs and events dedicated toward involving more students in the museum. One example is the Student Tour Guide program; students can learn the basics of giving museum tours and have more intimate knowledge about the history of WAM.
