We saw Joyce freak out over the lights when Will went missing. Everyone thought she was nuts when they saw the Christmas lights, when she tried to explain. Now I want Karen somehow hearing the chimes after Holly goes missing (we’re assuming she’s not in the hospital for this, m’kay?). I want Joyce to come over to her laying in bed with the Wheeler’s big grandfather clock pulled directly up against the side, her facing it. She’s staring so hard but she’s still hearing the chimes without seeing the clock move. In this AU The Wheelers are all clued in on everything that’s happening. Joyce comes over with El to bring Karen a casserole (awful because Joyce can’t really cook for shit). Karen is having a full breakdown “J-Joyce I thought you were crazy when you were talking about the lights but don’t you hear that?” “No, no, listen!!!” “Look, look, hear the chiming, and the clock isn’t moving!” But now Joyce thinks Karen is completely off her rocker because at least her lights were actually flickering, the house is silent. “Please, please you have to believe me, you have to hear it!!!” after a long pause, she says in a voice barely audible “C’mon El, you hear it right? You hear it.” No longer a question, a desperate beg for it to be true through tears and a broken voice. El looks scared, and shakes her head, “I’m… I’m sorry.” Karen groans, a long shaking one, one that morphs into almost a yelp. “Karen…” “Joyce, please…” “Karen, there’s no clock chimes,” “No, no Joyce, please, I know you think I’m insane, but please, I need you here right now…”
