From the shore of Gaza, I am writing these words while watching the sunset with my children.
There is something heartbreaking about watching such a beautiful sunset while wondering what tomorrow will bring.
For many families around the world, home is a place of safety. For us, home has become a memory. The war has taken away so much—our security, our stability, and the simple routines that once made life feel normal.
Every morning, we wake up facing uncertainty. Buildings have collapsed, schools have been disrupted, healthcare is limited, and even basic necessities like food, clean water, and shelter have become daily challenges.
In this video, you will see small moments from our lives. You will see a father trying to bring smiles to his children's faces amidst hardship. You will see children who still dream, laugh, and hope, even under circumstances no child should have to endure.
My children, Israa and Suhaib, deserve what every child deserves: the chance to learn, play, and sleep safely, and to look to the future with hope, not fear.
We are not headlines, and we are not just numbers. We are a real family who struggle every day to survive and maintain our dignity.

Her whole family, her baby, her husband, her husband's mother, are in mortal danger from the bombings. And her 1-year-old baby is in a respirator; he has very dangerous lung cancer. She needs to pay $5,200 more before the 1st of July to get the family out of Gaza, so the baby can receive proper treatment and her other loved ones can be safe. My friend doesn't have that money. Today I wanted to talk about Kyle Bassinga. Kyle was a 21 year old man from Georgia, whose family described him as "a kind, thoughtful, and smart young man who loved nature, music, and the people around him". Kyle Bassinga was killed on February 18th 2026, just ten days after his birthday. He was found hanging from a tree in a park.
The police ruled it a suicide. The family and local community demanded an investigation. The police refused to change their ruling.
I know this website it too white for this to really go anywhere, but an understanding of the present reality of white supremacy in the United States is just so important to transfeminism here. Lynchings never stopped, white supremacy never went away, you just stopped looking.
Imagine what I'm going through right now. Put yourselves in my shoes and imagine what you would do. I'm currently in a hospital in Gaza, as you can see in the picture. I'm sitting in a hospital that's almost completely destroyed, just like everything beautiful that the occupation has destroyed for us.
I can barely write this post. I'm suffering from severe anemia, intense nausea, and multiple fainting spells. Last week, I had several fainting spells and fell on my head. My health is deteriorating rapidly, and I urgently need to buy my medications and painkillers. Please stand by me and help me by donating.
On top of all this, I was injured when our house was bombed while we were inside. Some shrapnel is still embedded in my body from the explosion, causing me unbearable pain. It needs to be removed urgently because it will have a negative impact in the future and cause blood poisoning. Therefore, I desperately need to raise money for my treatments and surgery.

For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.

Additional information: State lawmakers have been gunning for Pearson and Jones nearly their entire terms. Most notably, in 2023, the House expelled them for participating in a protest at the Capitol. Their districts had to have special elections to have them reinstated.
Pearson is one of the plaintiffs of a lawsuit seeking an injunction against the redistricting.
The city most affected by the redistricting is Memphis, where locals are fighting against xAI's data center, which has been operating with very little oversight and is poisoning the people who live there. Here is a previous post on that with more information and more sources.
