If you’ve heard the situation that happened with @murderbot , it seems the scammer is now trying to find someone else to help them. The account to watch out for is “0ammarfmily” as it is linked the same scam. The account was initially abandoned and has recently become active again.

The gist of this that while there may be a real family under that name out there the account has been impersonating them and taking advantage of someone’s kindness. I do not generally callout fundraising accounts but I was personally asked to make a warning about it. The post that explains everything has the reblogs turned off in order to prevent people using it as an excuse to call every Palestine account a scammer so I will not link it here.

If you use this post to call every Palestine fundraiser a scam you will be publicly shown for everyone’s blocklist as I don’t tolerate nonsense over here and have no desire to argue with people who refuse to do any research. I’ll post screenshots with what I was told:

i really don't know what to say. we only received 2 donations all day, totalling to $14. while i really thank the people who donated what they could, this doesn't even come close to the amount of donations we need to get them home

now that this issue is over, however, unfortunately we have another one - we urgently need to pay the iv fluids back

the pharmacist who let us take the fluids without paying for them is extremely agitated as we still haven't been able to pay for last week's amount

he has said that his employers will get him in trouble if they know he was willing to give away their medicine without asking for money first, and that the pharmacy counts its stock every friday, so we are running out of time to give him the money

if we aren't able to get him the money in time, he won't be willing to go out of his way to help us this way anymore, as this risks his job - so either he may be fired for this, or his employment will be shaky, and regardless we won't be able to get this anymore

as mentioned, this medicine is the only thing that means ammar's heart doesn't risk stopping from not having the immune globulin injection on time, so having it as a possibility is extremely important

this is in addition to the fact that samah and ammar aren't allowed to leave the hospital until this is paid for (the evacuation was a uniquely dangerous occasion) and the summer there makes the courtyard extremely, bakingly hot. ammar has been sent into the icu before from being forced to wait outside here without shelter
