Using the correct pronouns is just as important when the person isnt there to hear it.

We are alone in our own heads from birth. However, it is through the interaction with others (however closely and for however long) that we can even begin to see ourselves at all. Shame not the human that wants connection. We are not all built the same and we can and do come to know ourselves deeply at varying durations of introspection. Presume not to know how long someone has spent alone and for what reason they choose to break from the solitude, especially if you have not taken the time alone to truthfully parse your motive for asserting that you know better than them.
