This fandom is so delusional oh my god. George is lowk a chud, he's not secretly some progressive genius. His portrayal of the Dornish is by no means "sex-positive" lmao it's blatant orientalism.

The mainline ASOIAF fandom seems to all have a better version of the books in their head and like. If we ever get TWOW and then even less likely ADOS, they're all going to be very disappointed. Just enjoy the series for what it is- kinda shitty, but fun, low brow fantasy with problematic elements- instead of trying to make it something else.

And like to be clear I do think ASOIAF will be remembered fondly, even if it's likely never finished, but as what it is - the "Martin is literally a literary genius" part of the fandom will be singing a different tune after the books have been somehow completed and/or some time after Martin's death, when the "fog of war" isn't there anymore.
