Nathan Chen’s free skate was a marvel to watch, especially toward the end where he was clearly getting into it and having fun. And Yuma! That’s definitely my pick for the 2026 games; his energy is clear throughout everything he does and I cannot wait to see where he goes from here. That 4A attempt was so so close and I wish Yuzu could have landed it, but he still skated a beautiful program even with the falls. The amount of falls and stumbles in those last groups kinda makes me think the ice wasn’t in the best condition, but it could have been down to nerves.

Okay actually I’m not over this at all. Nathan Chen short program redemption talk about an improvement from 2018. Personal best then personal best and world record. I am so glad I stayed up to watch this. Very sad about Yuzu popping that quad though, and even with that he still had one of the most fluid, beautiful short programs of the night
