Hey guys.. I'm alive, just busy still. Â Sorry for the long absence.
I'm still on hiatus right now. Â I miss everyone, and I'll try to swing in once the muse is active again and time permits. Â Just got a lot going on. Â And on top of that, I got family visiting next week from out of the country so I'm going to be super busy with that.
Thanks for being patient and understanding.
Sorry for being gone so much. Â Between holidays, trying to find work and an assortment of other things, I haven't been around a lot. Â But I should be more active soonish.
Still alive. Â Just might be on a semi-hiatus off and on over the next month or so.

He brushed the hair from her forehead as he settled in beside her, dragging her small form onto his chest. After all they had been through, it was nice to feel her like this again. Thankfully, sheâd recovered well enough after a few nights of sleep, and some good, hearty food in her. Less of slag poisoning and more of exhaustion, it seemed. "Thatâs one way tâopen your present early, I guess." He brushed his lips against her temple, wrapping her up in the sheets to keep her warm. "Sure ya donât want somethinâ else as a giftâŚ? Somethinâ better than this olâ fart?"
He always seemed to do that.. Apparently he seemed to like her atop him, which was fine but she preferred him on her simply for feeling protected.  A small smile settles on her lips, lowering her head to kiss him again as if she simply couldn't get enough of his kisses.  The warm feeling of his lips against her temple, was always a comforting one, relaxing along his thin frame with a soft sigh escaping her. "I don't want anything else.." Jezebel admits, "Is that a bad thing?" lifting her gaze to meet his with a warm smile, "If... if I have to have something else.. it would be to see my family again.. Or. Maybe a bowl of KonpeitĹ." smiling a little more, "Have you tried it?  It's sugar candy, but it's r-- oh.. you don't like candy.." Biting her lower lip, she gives him a thoughtful look, "What would you want for Mercenary Day if you could have anything you wanted?"

8. Building a fire in the fireplace Jack throws a few sticks in the fireplace and he shivers. It oughta be good temperature wise once it was lit up again. Glancing at her,he points over to a log. "Grab that for me, will you?"
Jack tosses it into the fireplace and he throws a crumpled up newpaper ball he lit on fire into it. Jabbing it repeatedly with the fire poker, the fire grows stronger and the heatâs already filling the room.Â
"If you donât give me a reason to, I wonât kill you."
Sighing softly, Jezebel shakes her head, "I think it would benefit both of us to try to stay alive and warm.. By whatever means necessary.. With our clothes on." Lifting an eyebrow slowly. Â "Are you the least bit curious about what I can do?"
Itâs cold out.

Jezebel shivers much the same, though whether or not she's willing to get terribly close to Jack to keep warm is another story entirely. Â She hands him a log to add to the fire as requested, "I suppose we're stuck together for now."
Catfish
He enjoys the second bite as much as he did the first, and soon is eating with gusto. "This," he says after swallowing another bite, "is definitely some of the best fish I've ever had."
She does similarly, eating quite hungrily but with a polite manner. Â Peeling off a piece, she reaches across the table to offer it to him, smiling a little as she does so, "Here." Â Jezebel is content.. There's no doubting that. Â Though as she has mentioned before, it doesn't take much to fill her up.

Catfish
"We sure did!" he laughs delightedly. "I really haven't had fish this good in forever. I kept expecting something to go wrong - but nothing did! It's perfect!" He can't get the stupid grin off his face. They've done it, and they've done it well.
Jez draws away from him to fetch two plates and sets them on the table before carefully carrying the fish to the table as well, along with two forks, napkins and dips to eat with the fish.
"Okay, here we go!" Â She sits down and carefully begins to peel the crispy flesh away from the side of the fish, looking excitedly towards Rhys as she does so. Â She was so hungry by then that the earlier stuff was almost completely forgotten.

"Hey, hey, you donât have to push! We can talk this out, right, guys? Guys?"Rhys gets his answer in the form of a pistol to the face and goes pale. âOkay!â He raises his hands and backs into the cell. âI get it, okay? Thereâs no need to go waving guns around. Iâm doing what you ask.âThe guards who dragged him here donât lower the gun until heâs fully in the cell and the door is closed. As they walk away, he canât resist a parting shot. âYeah, youâd better just walk away! Wait until I get out of here!âHe turns to face the cell, only to be stunned speechless at the sigh of none other than Jezebel, watching him quietly.âPlease tell me you didnât hear all that.â
He folded his arms across his chest and leaned against the bars of the cell, sighing.
"I was, uh, investigating ways to pay off that debt I told you about.â Rhys doesnât meet her gaze. âThey didnât take kindly to it.â
"Is that all.." she says it passively.. her mind was clearly on other things. Â She looks like she's been in there a couple days.. She was in a different mode than she normally was.. This was a side of her Rhys rarely, if ever, saw. Â "How do you intend to get out?"
Catfish
He takes the fish and tastes it, a little hesitantly, only to find that it surpasses his expectations.
"It's amazing!" he exclaims, beaming at Jez. "Might be the best I've ever had, even. Try some!"
Jez tilts her head back when he eats it - noting his hesitation. Â Considering what happened the last time they cooked, she can understand it.. She was a bit reluctant, too.
But his react -- A big smile appears, "R-really?" Â breaking free of that silence finally, excited to hear what he thought of the fish. Â She peels another piece off and quickly cools it by blowing on it before hesitantly trying a piece herself.
To her surprise, it turns out to be pretty damn good.  She looks at Rhys in shock, "W-we did it!"
Catfish
Rhys comes up behind Jezebel and wraps his arms around her, kissing the top of her head. "I'm sorry," he murmurs. "I promise it's nothing to do with you."
He feels awful for embarrassing her, and he immediately wishes he could take back his words if it could help at all.
Peeling off a piece with the crispy outside of a chunk of meat from the inside, she gently blows on it until it seems cool enough to taste. Â The kiss doesn't go unnoticed, but she's really quiet as she offers the piece towards Rhys. Â She made sure it should be cool enough for him so not to accidentally burn him, of course.
A little smile creeps up, but it's shy, like she's afraid she might do something wrong.
Catfish
Rhys goes red when he feels her hands skimming the bottom of his shirt and pauses. "Okay, I - I really hate to stop, but - on the kitchen counter waiting for dinner to cool, it just -" He wants to disappear. To stop now feels like the worst idea he's ever had. Still, he can't help but feel like it's... wrong, somehow.
Jezebel felt a sudden jolt of something in her gut when he... basically stops her advances. Â Looking down, then away, she gently pushes him back and slides off the counter with a quick nod, "R-right. Â S-sorry.." clearing her throat quickly.
Taking a fork, she pokes at the crispy exterior of the fish and occupies herself with that, trying to distract herself with how completely foolish she feels at that moment.

Catfish
"Mm, I don't know," he replies. "Long enough."
When Jez reaches for the counter he shifts backwards, leaning his weight onto it, and deepens the kiss a little more. His left hand slides from her waist to her back and applies a little pressure there, and he smiles into the kiss.
Not quite what she wanted.. Jezebel grins and bites his lower lip softly, "Mm. Rhys.." reaching around to grab the counter, she would pull him along with her to shift him into position so he's situated facing the counter with her slightly seated on the edge. Â Her legs unravel from his hips as she pulls him in closer, fingers tugging along the edge of the bottom of his shirt, "Long enough?" smiling with mirth growing in her violet orbs.
Catfish
He reddens again when she hugs him, but this time out of simple affection. The fish, he imagines, will probably take a long time to cool. "It's going to be really good," he comments.
Pauses. Then, all at once, he whirls around and picks Jez up by the waist to spin her around in a wild circle, grinning hugely. "We did it!" Rhys exclaims, and plants a kiss on her lips.
"Mhm! Â It will be." she seems really happy about how it turned out, too. Â When he spins around and picks her up, she's rather taken by surprise, letting out the cutest of squeals before returning the kiss affectionately. Â Her arms fold around his shoulders, legs wrapping about his hips to keep her level with him, just holding herself there to continue the kiss for as long as he might allow.
"Mm.." she softly moans into the kiss, "How long will it take to cool?" Jezebel questions against his lips, reaching back to grab the counter, encouraging him to walk forward so she can partly sit on it so he isn't having to support her full weight.
