what an amazing reminder that space is beautiful, mysterious, awesome, and Leonard McCoy hates every single moment of it

Every so often I'm struck again by what an incredible job Whoopi Goldberg does playing Guinan. She was 33 when she first played her yet I have never once doubted that Guinan is a mysterious alien who is hundreds of years old. The effect even holds in screengrabs. How does someone manage to do that with their face.

the sisko kirk hero worship homoeroticism would be entirely reversed if kirk ever showed up on ds9 thru his own time travel circumstances because the first thing that would happen is he would meet quark and the thing about kirk is there is nobody in the entire space and time of the universe that would annoy him more than quark it would immediately be like the worst day he ever experienced it would be like nonstop torment trying to understand why these things keep happening to him and then he would see sisko tactfully handling quark or god forbid see him getting quark to kiss the nagus scepter and like it would be over for him like sisko handling quark related paperwork would be the single most heroic thing hes ever seen like he would become immediately obsessed and bewitched

Sure sure ds9 polycule but you know what? Canon accurate O'Briens would find out they're both cheating on each other with Kira (who didn't realize this was a problem because Bajorans something something) & the b plot that episode is all 3 of them arguing about it (with each other as well as the rest of the crew) until forgiving each other but without actually coming to an agreement about anything that leaves it ambiguous if they're gonna keep doing that or not. And it'd be really funny and vaguely problematic
