Back In Business
âThis conflict has been taxing us to near the breaking point, that much is certain. Iâm glad to have you back, Shay.â
Upon his questioning as to the whereabouts of Ultear, Lelouchâs face turned grim, and he turned his eyes away from his Knight. That woman, the one dearest to Shay, had already⌠Sighing, the leader of the Black Knights straighted himself out and turned to Shay once again. It was better that he hear it from him, at the very least.
ââŚwe lost track of her not long after you. Iâm sorry ShayâŚbut she hasnât returned. I have men watching the new arrivals just in case, but no one matching her description has been seen in the city for months.â
The grim expression he received in response to his inquiry was not promising, nor was the actual vocal reply that followed. There was a deep sigh emitted from his chest, more of resignation than actual anger. There was no one to blame but himself for her leaving this world, and in truth, he wasnât even sure that was a bad thing, considering how guarded the woman was. Freedom from this world was most likely a good thing for her, or so he was trying to tell himself.
That said, he needed to focus upon his tasks at hand. He had been absent for quite some time, and it was showing in his lack of information of the current situation. Ultear or not, he had a job to do, and heâll take the time to come to terms with her departure once everything had settled.
âI understand. Iâll concern myself with such later. Tell me, Master Zero, of the situation that is transpiring. Where do you need me?â
