It's Tragic...really

Being unmedicated for so long has me lashing out like crazy. I say the most hurtful things to the people I love the most and I don't know why. Thoughts of the end are at an all time high. Finally got health insurance back and have a doc appt on the 24th. But I'm sure he'll refer me to a psych doc, so it's going to be like starting all over again. I fucking hate everything.

I have read a few articles saying not to watch this. I couldn't disagree more! Yes, it is very raw, and may not be suitable for all viewers. BUT, I think the realness of this show, is what makes the message so powerful. Kids and adults alike do not always realize how much their words can affect someone emotionally. If someone is already struggling with a mental illness, sometimes that "harmless" comment that was made to them, keeps them up at night, and can make them question their entire self. I like that the show was graphic and didn't sugar coat anything. That's real life. Real life is not edited for TV. These things really happen, and they happen more often than anyone would like to admit. I think it's an important show for parents and teens to watch, together, if possible. I don't believe it glorified suicide at all. If anything, it shows one instance of several different events that could lead someone to believe there is no other way out. Hannah went through a lot of traumatic events before she made her choice, but sometimes... It only takes one. My hope is that it gives people who are contemplating suicide a look into how it will affect their family and friends, and that they choose to reach out for help.
