That got him thinking about his mother, of course, which brought on a whole new kind of guiltiness - it made Blaine of the time he had cried over a song he’d played, and had come so close to telling Lucan about his parents.
It should’ve been obvious to Blaine, that their closeness was not something they could get rid of, whether they liked it or not. But Blaine had tried to fuck it up anyways.
“Oh, be still my heart,” Lucan deadpanned. “Stop with the seduction or I’d be forced to strip you down and ravish you where you stand.” He gave Blaine a push on the back, guiding him to the bathroom. He’d get the water hot, turn on some music, get him fed. Hierarchy of needs, he thought again. It was all about clearing that away and being expedient. “Did I ever tell you about the worst client I’ve ever had? I must have told you the story at some point. Legendary..” It the story was in the open, that is.

He wouldn’t go that far. If “amazing” meant constant bickering, then Logan needed a new definition of the word. He was glad that Logan accepted affection, though. It was a bad sign if a fight was bad enough to make them recoil from each other. He hated that. “You know that I love you, right? Even at the worst, I love you?” he kissed the top of Logan’s head.
Logan knew that despite their issues, Lucan was the best thing that happened to him. Sure, they were in a very rough patch, but he remembered hearing someone say you can’t hate someone if you don’t love them. It made no sense to him then, but now that he was in that situation, he understood it.
“I know. I love you too, and I’m sorry I haven’t been the easiest to live with these past months.”
“I haven’t been, either.” He sighed, regretful that it took these blow ups to get to these truths, at times. “I understand if you need some space from me until our appointments. We can do joint and separate counseling.” Even as he said it, he knew he was in ‘problem solution mode’ that he often took at work. It was easier than feelings and meaningful resolution mode. Maybe the therapist would help him with that... if he didn’t steamroll them with his forceful personality, that is. “ I could take the spare room for tonight,” he suggested.

Logan nodded as he stood up to grab his laptop and start looking into couple counselors in the area. Though, he stopped slightly as he as he heard Lucan continue to speak.
Logan felt his eyes glaze over as he felt Lucan’s arms around him. He immediately melted into the man and wrapped his arms firmly around his torso. “I do love you. I know I don’t say it enough, but you’re still the most amazing thing that’s happened to me.”

That certainly shut him up. Blaine frowned to himself, moved to clear up a spot on the couch for him to sit. He plopped down, and sunk into the cushions.
He was being childish. He could acknowledge that. Blaine’s emotional maturity stopped growing sometime around the end of highschool, because of multiple factors, so of course he couldn’t be direct with what he wanted. But he had realized that he didn’t want to break up with Lucan; he just wanted to be better for him. That, though…. That would take a lot of work, and time, and Blaine didn’t want to use Lucan as an excuse to improve himself.
“… You’re right.”
“Of course I’m right,” Lucan responded without missing a beat. His voice bore no condemnation or hardly any inflection in it; just bare statement of fact. One would think he was verifying a sports statistic. “What would you like, the fried pork or mongolian beef?” he continued. He nodded as the other voice on the line spoke. “Yes, wantons... And fried rice..” All the food decisions squared away, he put away his phone and approached Blaine, his face softening as he studied Blaine’s tired face. “Come on... Let’s get you into a nice hot shower.”
Most of my muses come long before I choose an FC for them. In face casting, they fit more in tone than actual looks. Having said that, I’d say the FCs match about 60%- 80% how I see the characters in my head. They are NOT accurate to the characters. They never have been, they never will be. They never could be. I think the only accurate representation would be if I just started drawing them, which is something I want to do, but it would be time consuming, and I wouldn’t be able to use the hundreds of icons I’ve bookmarked or even made myself from fc pics. At the end of the day, I love using FCs and its helpful (to a point)l, but it makes me cringe, too. Knowing the fc name and hearing it used before the character names make me cringe. I realize I just don’t want a part of that anymore. (I want to see the character first and foremost, the less I know about FC and the actors involved, the better). If your character is named Jake and the character means a lot to you, and has gotten you through some tough times, why would you want to have the public perception of him be someone like say, Johnny Depp, when he’s always Jake to you? I want to know Jake first, okay? I’m sure he’s way better than the FC. Face casts come and go, your character is forever. But to each their own. If I start drawing my muses, its gonna be for fun and to get more in character. I’m not going to draw individual icons, and I’m not going to do it for other muns. And if the drawings turn out bad, this topic will probably never come up again on this blog.

Logan bit his lower lip and nodded in agreement. “I, uh… I can start looking into couples councilors tonight, if… if you’re okay with that. I mean, if you had another idea, I… uh, I’d be alright with it,” he responded hesitantly.
He couldn’t believe they had gotten to this point. The younger genuinely had no idea what to even say to the other without worrying if they were going to argue again.
“I think that’s the only option left to us,” he said. No sugar coating or mincing was even attempted. Now was the time for bald, plain if painful truths. “I’m all out of ideas, myself. And I know there’s still some fight in us. We wouldn’t be upset if we didn’t care. We’d have walked away long ago if that were true.” He sighed and went to the other to pull him into a tentative hug. “There’s no shame in getting help,” he said softly. They needed clearer minds to prevail. They needed a mediator. This wasn’t the end.

The Big Day
This part is all pomp and ritual. Everybody rises and gasps appropriately, and with no small amount of genuine emotion as Aandag appears. And Lucan stands waiting, smiling to himself because he can just SEE the restraint Aandag is putting on himself. He’d run if he could, but he has to stay in beat with the music- which sounds less sonorous and churchlike, than orchestral as the sound dissipates among trees and fern fronds.
There’s a hushed murmur of delight as they finally meet face to face. Lucan takes Aandag’s hand and kisses it- another crowd pleasing moment. The music stops. The vows begin. For all the preparation and theatricality to make this corner of the woods a civilized, glamorous event, it fades to nothing. All he really sees and hears is Aandag. He doesn’t even register the proud, loving looks of those nearest and dearest to them. And its okay- now of all moments is when that tunnel-vision is understandable. ‘ Do you take this man as your lawfully wedded husband. To have an to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.’ “I do.”
