Stiles’ father is one of the King’s guards who reside inside the castle. After the loss of his mother at a very young age, Stiles and his father needed a way to keep the young boy close and so he became a kitchen boy. He learnt how to address the royals correctly, cook, clean and do as he was asked, though he was never very good at any of the above. Luckily for him he had a good sense of humor which aided him in finding a best friend for life in the young Lord, Scott. Scott and Stiles have always been very much inseparable, despite Scott’s mother’s obvious displeasure in their friendship. They find a kind of common ground where Stiles makes Scott feel like a normal boy of his age while Scott reminds Stiles that he is more than just a kitchen boy. 

Being down in the kitchens for most of the day, without a titled person in sight, means that Stiles gets to hear all sorts of stories. Myths of ghosts in the castle are among just a few. Though he’s never seen any proof, he is quite the believer in all the things that go bump in the night, no matter how crazy Camille tells him they are. Camille is sort of an older sister/mother figure to Stiles. Since he has no women in his life and she recently lost her younger brother, the pair have taken well to each other. Even if she does tell him that all the myths and nonsense. Hearing these stories has made his mind began to wonder if the sudden and mysterious death of his mother was really all that mysterious. After sneaking through the under ground tunnels with Scott, the pair ran into Derek Hale (a man who lives somewhere in the woods) who confirmed Stiles’ fears that there is something greater than them out there, something not even the biggest of armies could match up to. The Hales are a pack/family completely made up of werewolves, living in a home deep inside of the woods by the castle. They were a very close knit family, a pack if you will, with Talia Hale (Derek’s mother) as their alpha who could shift into a full wolf unlike others. During his school years Derek courted Kate Argent, a hunter who used him to collect information on his family and would surely lead to their end. One day, after Derek and his sister Laura had left for school, Kate and a few other hunters set fire to the Hales’ home and caused eight fatalities. With Derek and Laura being the only surviving relatives, besides Peter who was severely injured and hospitalized, they left town some time after the fine, eventually Derek went off on his own while Laura returned to take care of their uncle Peter.

After hearing the news of Laura’s mysterious death Derek has returned to his burnt out home in the woods. Many people who pass through there are frightened by him and the tales that tell the story of him causing the fire himself, but he doesn’t seem to care and almost liked the solitude it gives him. Though he doesn’t remain in the woods all of the time. There are a series of secret tunnels and passage ways underneath the castle —ones which Derek is very familiar with. He often uses these to find his way inside and can use his speed to get himself out before the guards come. These come in handy to keep an eye on that boy he’s taken notice of; Scott McCall. Derek isn’t sure what it is, but there is something about him. Something he’s never seen before. Loyal to his pack..

Leith is a young kitchen boy and has been working as a servant at the castle for the past three years. He comes from a rather poor family of shepherds but knew from the day his father began to teach him the tricks of the trade that this wasn’t something he wanted to do. He has witnessed his mother cooking a lot during his young years and has been more interested in that than herding sheep from sunrise until sunset. So upon turning of age he left home and decided to work at the castle instead. He may have been willingly becoming servant to a castle full of stuck up rich people, but this was possibly the only chance he would get to see something more than the four walls of his home and fields of sheep. 

Accepting this post has brought the kitchen servant a lot of opportunities that he never even imagined he would get. He has served and cooked for the royal family on a daily basis as well as several other royals who came to visit, he got to witness the extravagant balls and events that peasants had only ever heard about and got to live among it all. Despite being at the bottom of the hierarchy within the castle, Leith doesn’t let his lack of title and power bother him. He keeps a positive and cheery attitude about things, he’s a little free spirited and can even read; quite a rare thing to find in a servant. Loyal to the French court.

There are many stories that surround the original vampires and where they came from, some scary enough to give children nightmares. But the Mikaelson family look are your average rich, titled, family. ..Until they want you to think otherwise of course. Being born in the 10th century, Kol was the third youngest child of a family which was neither poor nor rich. They lived in the what was known as the new world, in a small village which was tormented and tortured by men who would turn into wolves at the peak of the full moon. As a human and as a young man, Kol was neither like his mother or his father but both. He had his father’s temper, his mother’s cunning mind but his own sense of innocence about him. Being a middle child would mean that he didn’t get as much attention as his other siblings. Finn and Elijah were the oldest and would be expected to marry first, Niklaus was the bastard so their father made sure to make his life hard, Rebekah was the only female and Henrik was the youngest and most protected.  During the full moon families would take to the caves to protect themselves, until one night it went horribly wrong. The whole family were horrified and stricken at the death of the youngest son Henrik, to the point where their mother would do anything to protect her family. Esther Mikaelson feared greatly for her children’s lives and decided that the only way to protect the remainder of them would be to turn them into something that could match the wolves in all aspects, maybe even beat them. And so the vampire species was born…

Since that awful day, Kol hasn’t seen very much of day light. Kol spent a lot of his time away from the family, making a name for himself and them in Eastern Europe. He became violent and rather vicious during this time, killing and feeding from anyone he wished, but he also became very much a charmer with a witty personality. He would wine and dine many women from Royals to lowly commoners to entertain himself, often taking their virtue along with a few drops of blood from their necks. He later rejoined the family in Italy where he attended a gathering held by Alexander (Rebekah’s love at the time) and was daggered for the first time by The Five. Once undaggered Kol traveled to Africa where he met a group of witches. With his mother being one, Kol has always had a rather great respect for witches and thought they would be more useful to have on his side than against him, until they relieved that they worshiped a man who (if risen) would give even the original family a run for it’s money. After slaughtering every last witch in the coven, he returned to his family with a lot more ego and disobedience than ever before. Niklaus would not stand for this attitude and regrettably daggered his brother. Now, just shy of one hundred years later, Kol is being undaggered on the journey to French Court with the hope that he will aid his family in Marcel’s downfall and not create too much chaos. Growing up in Spain under the reign of a royal family that didn’t consider its people, Marcel grew up wanting better for himself and for his friends. He sat aside, watching as the king and the royal family only cared for themselves, knowing that he couldn’t do anything to change that; until his life changed, for the better. At the age of [—], Marcel was turned into a vampire by no other than Klaus Mikaelson. Marcel saw Klaus as a father figure, as Klaus showed Marcel all the perks of being a vampire. The pair was closer than ever, controlling crowds at a time, compelling anyone for everything they could ever want, until Klaus left Spain. Being frozen at such an age was seen as a benefit for Marcel. He was at his strongest and at the peak of his fitness so could not complain. Once left to his own devices by Klaus, Marcel made it his mission to over throw the royal family and rule Spain as it should be.  

Then one night, Marcel made his way through the castle un-noticed and used compulsion to be allowed in to visit the king. It was then he compelled his way to the Spanish throne, and he’s never looked back. Marcel never had a family to care for, to call his own, so with the power to turn the guards and the entire Spanish court, he could now care for a family and build a world-wide know royal family. Now he plans to take create a suitable alliance with France, and having a queen such as Mary Stewart by his side wouldn’t be so bad either. Loyal to family and his country.

It took King Henry and Queen Catherine eleven years after their marriage to conceive a child, during that time was when Sebastian was born or Henry’s mistress, Diane de Poitiers. Even though Bash is the king’s eldest son he is illegitimate and can’t be the heir to the throne, therefore passing it on to his younger brother Francis. Bash has never been bitter about missing out on the thrown though, he has still lived a life of luxury, just as Francis has. The difference between the two is Bash was brought up with tough love. Despite being known as the ‘lucky bastard’ by most, everyone knows that a bastard can take more hits than a legitimate son can. He would often duel with Henry, mostly for play but also as a way of being taught a life lesson. 

Bash doesn’t nearly sleep around as much as his younger brother, but he is certainly more of a flirt. With a wink and a smile he has girls tripping over their skirts to talk to him. Knowing that Mary is to return to the French court, Bash will take every opportunity he can to poke fun at his brother, teasing him, because he knows that he well never be forced into the same fate. But he also knows that Mary wont be alone here, none of them will be. Sebastian knows all about what lies beyond the castle walls, he knows all about the dangers, and will do anything to protect those he loves from them.
