A little girl is gone.
Nobody ever knew.
Her life was stolen and given to another.
But the clock doesn’t care.
Time marches on. A little girl is gone and she never will never get another chance.
She’ll never play with dolls or dream of dancing with her prince.

The teenage girl too, gone and never was.
She was hiding in the shadows, and no one ever noticed.
She whispered softly from the cage because she didn’t know how to scream.
She’ll never never get asked out to the dance or try to get into a clique.
She’ll never struggle to bloom a flower; she’s the seed that never grew.

Nobody heard the young woman crying in her struggle to break free.
She watched longing from the window as the fads all pass her by.
She wanted to get out but she was afraid.
Too afraid.
But the clock refused to wait.
She tried to find the courage but found it much too late.
She’d been left behind and never got to live her youth.
She never got to dance at clubs and throw caution to the wind.
The parties are all over now and the kids have all grown up.
But not her.
Never her.
She never got the time.

The mature woman is approaching, losing will to scream and fight.
She’s shed so many tears for the girls she’d never been.
Her life had been stolen.
She can never get it back.
She has to start alone without her memories at her back.
The little girl is gone, victim to this crime.
But there is no culprit.
And soon there’ll be no time.
