two college students who go on an expedition to an uncharted island with their classmates and professors, a government funded low stakes trek in the pursuit of an environmental science degree. only those low stakes end up being turned on their head...

left out of group activities for being, frankly, kind of a jackass, rowan is shocked to stumble across the dead body of one of their classmates. slowly the others turn up dead as well, and he and quiet, mild-mannered alejandro are the only ones left. only, when rowan realizes how suspicious that is--how the locals are normal people who just don't speak their language, how no one else knew they were here--the pieces finally fall into place just as alejandro confirms his fears over the walkie talkies they've been using to stay in touch.
