( officially moving elias to my multi over at @becomelions​. he’s not gaining any traction here even though i love him, it’s just gonna be easier to bring him over to the multi. so if we have a thread, they’ll be continued over there. follow if you wish but uh, yeah he’s over there now! )

coming topside wasn’t something that he liked to do often, it was usually only ever done out of necessity, though that rarely happened. regardless, he had a bone to pick with a certain devil, which is how he finds himself in what he considers to be, a rundown town. eden, what an interesting name, considering the fact that it seemed to be anything but what with all the wayward souls lurking about… a being of his caliber has certain talents, one of which is being able to sense non-human entities, souls that were meant for his realm and an assortment of other things… alas, he walks into the sheriff’s office, thinking he was going to find daniel, when instead he comes face to face with a soul that’s been stolen. it only makes the god’s conversation with the devil that much more important, but it can wait, since he can sense that the other isn’t even in town at the moment. turning his attention to the man before him, hades cocks his head, ❛ you… you’re not going where you’re supposed to be. was it your doing or daniel’s? ❜ naturally, he doesn’t care that there are other people in the office as well that can overhear their conversation, all he wants to know is what went wrong…

          it  was  nice  to  feel  like  part  of  the  family  .  a  family .  compared  to  her  very  own  blood .  teal  was  dead  and  malcolm  was  as  well .  or  at  least  from  what  everyone  gathered .  no  body  was  ever  recovered .  her  only  guess  is  that  the  wolves  finished  him  off  later  that  night  after  john  shot  him .  sure ,  she  should  feel  grief  but –  there  wasn’t  any .  a part  of  her  was  thankful .  she  now  had  full  reign  of  her  own  life .   she  watched  as  ryan  moved  towards  the  fence  and  ducked  in  between  the  railing .  a  small  laugh  came  from  her .  “  yeah –  we  do .  you’re  not  wrong  there .  “  she  gazed  up  at  him .  “  that’s  how  it  usually  go .   so –  how  did  you  manage  up  here ?  i  know  a  lot  of  you  all  have  stories .  i’m  curious .  “  

        the  hilarious  antics  that the  guys in   the  bunkhouse  were  known  for  was  the  very  reason  why  harper  stayed  amused .  between  beating  the  majority  of  them  in  poker  and  making  everything  a  competition ,  there  was  never  a  boring  moment .  it  wasn’t  often  she  spent  time  in  the  bunk  house .  john  had  allowed  her  to  park  her  truck  and  trailer  near  the  barn  and  that’s  where  she  spent  most  of   her  time  if  she  wasn’t  helping  everyone  out .    her  arms  hung  over  the  fence  as  everyone  seemed  to  get  a  good  chuckle  out  of  ryan’s  attempt .  “  i  mean ,  let’s  be  honest  here –  jimmy  is  probably  going  to  be  the  worst  one . “  the  blonde  teased  .   she was  good  with  what  she  did .  barrel  racing .  and  it  helped  with   a  well  trained  horse  and  one  that  was  fast .   another  small  chuckle  came  from  her  as  she  turned  towards  him .  “  you  guys  are  good  with  cattle .  i’m  still  learning  how  to  cut  . i’ll  get  there  eventually .  “  harper  replied .  “  and  thanks  .  i  appreciate  what  ya’ll  can  do  too .  i  mean – the  crap  you  all  put  up  with ?  i  know  it’s  not  easy .  but  you  all  manage .  i  respect  that . “ 

A horse wandered into town. It's an American Paint. Tossing his head and snorting. He wouldn't let anyone close enough to grab his lead nor hop onto the saddle. Instead, pinning his ears and skittering back a few feet to keep his distance. Only to inch closer as if trying to beckon someone to follow. The reason becomes apparent when he heads to the edge of town. His rider had fallen from the saddle and was unconscious.

He’d been leaning up on the side of the building, watching everyone walk by during the little market that took place on most weekends. It was something their little town enjoyed to get goods out to others. He, as the sheriff, was just there to make sure everything ran smoothly. What he didn’t expect was to see a horse minus a rider make its way into town. He witnessed other ranchers and farmers attempt to wrangle in the horse who seemed to be fighting it pretty hard. The creature didn’t let anyone close and Elias found it better to intervene himself. Though he found as he got closer, the horse backed away as he seemed to be signaling something. So Elias began to follow with some distance behind to make sure the horse wasn’t spooked and what he found at the edge of town was rather unexpected. The sheriff rushed over to the rider’s side, calling on his radio for some assistance to get the unconscious figure some medical attention. 

It didn’t take too long for the local ambulance to get to their location, using the outer roads so as not to drive trough the market and the people all there. Elias helped them into the vehicle before looking over at the horse, unsure what to do with it. But he signaled for the ambulance to go ahead, he would meet them there once he handled the horse. Slowly he approached the creature, hands up to show he wasn’t going to try and trickery with him. 

             ☽                 starving  would  have  been  an  understatement;  living  off  vending  machines  and  cheap  convenient  store  snacks  in  an  attempt  to  stretch  her  budget.  having  a  real  dinner  was  amazing,  but  learned  behavior  was  hard  to  forget,  and  the  plate  held  far  too  much  food  than  her  stomach  could  handle.  she  ate  quickly,  grumbling  of  her  stomach  settling  and  she  was  able  to  finish  near  half  her  plate  before  she  started  to  feel  full.  fork  and  knife  set  down,  a  hand  moves  to  rub  at  her  stomach.  a  shower  and  a  good  meal  had  her  feeling  more  relaxed,  posture  less  rigid  as  she  leaned  back  in  her  seat.   ❛   i  should…  warn  you.   ❜   she  pauses,  soft  frown  settling  onto  her  lips.   ❛   i’m  prone  to  night  terrors…   about  all  the  stuff  that’s  happened  so  i  don’t…  well,  ah…  sometimes  i  start  screaming  in  my  sleep…  i  don’t  want  you  to  like  freak  out…  just  bad  memories.   ❜

                  it  was  funny  to  watch  some  of  the  ranch  hands  even   attempt  barrel  racing .  .  it  might  look  easy  but  it  wasn’t .  there  was  a  lot  more  than  just  riding  to  it .  and  harper  was  a  natural  at  it .  once  he  was  finished ,  she  couldn’t  help  but  chuckle  ,  arms  hanging  over  the  fence .  “  you  did  better  than  some  of  the  other guys . “  harper  teased ,  trying  to lighten  the  embarrassing  moment .  “  at  least  you  didn’t  fall  off  too .  well – i mean you almost did  but  you  didn’t  quite  make  it  to  the  falling  part .  cutting  the  barrels  too  close  can  for  sure  mess  someone  up .  been  there .  “  harper  wasn’t  a  perfectionist  but  she  tired .  and  despite  how  long  she’s  been  doing  what  she  does ,  she  still  has  her  mess  ups  at  some  points . 

          she  placed  a  boot  on  one  of  the  rails ,  humming  softly .  “  it’s  more  of  a  chick  thing .  you  guys  stick  with  your  cutting  cattle  and  what  not .  you  do  good  at  what  you  do .  “ 

               ☽                  she  felt  a  bit  foolish,  how  much  better  she  felt  after  a  simple  shower  and  a  fresh  change  of  clothes.  the  food  also  smelt  amazing,  stomach  rumbling  at  the  idea  of  something  other  than  what  came  out  of  a  gas  station  or  a  vending  machine.    ❛   thank  you…   ❜  she  grabs  for  the  offered  plate,  far  more  than  she  knew  she’d  be  able  to  eat,  but  she’d  make  sure  it  was  saved  for  later.  taking  a  seat  at  the  table,  she  pulls  her  seat  in  close  and  waits  for  the  other  to  join  her  before  taking  her  first  bite,  mouth  watering  as  she  fights  the  urge  to  inhale  the  food.   ❛   ‘s  really  good.   ❜
