I think one of my favorite things about fairy tail is the focus on love from something other than romantic. platonic, sisterly, motherly, brotherly, fatherly, and something else. Aquarius isn't Lucy's aunt. they're not connected through anything other than contracts and shared grief, yet they're one of the major plotlines in the whole show. "you're so mean to me. you yell at me, berate me, always remind me that I'm nothing but a vague, worse copy of your beloved friend and key holder. I irritate you, make you feel bad because you're always reminded of a time you can't have back. why do I still love you? why do you still love me? why can't I imagine a life without you, why does your sacrifice make me want to die? I miss you I miss you, come back. my one wish in the world is for you to come back to me. berate me more, I'd give anything to hear you rage at me again."
