He clearly hasn't been reading his four tracks owners manual, and based upon how long it took us to get this out he also wasn't checking his emails. But low and behold! It's finally here. The A side is a happy little number about being inferior to the flies gathered around a mop bucket that sounds like it very well could have been recorded at the bottom one. We follow up the killer RIK & THE PIGS debut longplayer with another punk jammer from Olympia, WA. For those of you keeping count this is our third release in a row from Washington's state capital. Time to set up a field office because I don't see this town slowing down anytime soon. Look out Atlanta there's a new contender for the crown. This time around we’ve got Olympia scuzz punks Beta Boys. Following stellar releases on Lumpy, Neck Chop, and Goodbye Boozy, they are back with their best outing yet. The sewer dredging punk of “Brick Walls” is all sludge, drool, and heavy thuds. A few weeks ago, we posted Blue Jean Queen, a 7" EP from the commendably snotty Olympia, Washington garage-punk band Rik & The Pigs. That band hasn't exactly taken its time following up that EP. Next week, they'll release A Child's Gator, their full-length debut. And they've shared two of its songs, "America" and "Donny Says." Judging by those two tracks, they've already leveled up from when they recorded that EP. Their new songs are cleaner and hookier, but they're still plenty fast and rickety and nasty.
