Rocky and Grace (Project Hail Mary)

When my mom got this book last Christmas, I never predicted it would fill my life for four weeks. Martian mom, Project Hail Mary daughter<3

I like its perspective on friendship, science, hope, and strange alien biology.

This sketchbook page has a basic design of the characters, a picture of the perfect ending including both the organ from the book and the whiteboard to textured board from the movie, and a depiction of one of the many problem solving conversations between Grace and Rocky. I kept to the sunset coloring of the movie and did it all in pencil, a method that captured the feeling I had while engaging with this story very well!

My Sticky Comic characters in Among Us!

I said I'd post this in November and here it is. I was in an Among Us phase when I drew this and unfortunately I am back in it. It was also just an excuse to design everyone a space suit.

Mina (Red): petty, always on cams

Samuel (Green): "This game is too violent." always lost

Edwin (Lime): can feel when someone is imposter, optimizes task order

Nora (Maroon): sabotages every chance she gets, gives herself secret challenges to keep it interesting

Penny (Banana): Makes ride or die friends in the first three minutes, says sorry after voting innocent people off

Jo (Gray): knows every map by heart, "skip"

Bob (Black): says he likes being imposter but gets super anxious every time, "EMERGENCY MEETING"

Bobalina (White): Will accuse anyone, loves being imposter but bad at it

Sticky (Purple): Only in it for the tasks, loves fungle, voice of reason

Stick (Blue): Always killed first, masterful imposter
