Next, I’ll be going out to visit some real places around my country (starting with one) that reenact era’s like the iron and Viking ages, which are both considered to be the 10th-century here in Scandinavia. There are surprisingly many of these places around here, which is great because that means I won’t simply have to google every answer when doing research for my book. I can actually (kind of) step into the era I’m writing about. Isn’t that cool??

Also, what is with #sleeptoken and always accidentally fitting so well with the story I’m trying to tell? It’s a vibe, though.

Day 5 Progress Check: Page 1 and 2 of my Norse horror novel, Draugr, are officially ALIVE. 💀📜

Writing a horror story is hard enough, but my universe decided to curse me early. The ‘B’, ‘N’, and ‘?’ keys on my iPad keyboard are completely dead. I am literally out here having to stop every five seconds, activate voice-to-text, and aggressively whisper “QUESTION MARK” and “PANCAKES” at my tablet just to get these siblings to argue about Norse grammar 😭

PLOT SUMMARY:

an American family of three, led by an unshakeably optimistic, fast-talking single father and his two teenagers, Darius (17) and Thea (15) takes a sudden vacation to a historical, immersive Viking-themed tourist retreat tucked away in Odense, Denmark. Joining them are their closest family friends, creating a chaotic, multi-ethnic group getaway. Contained within an invisible, localized 10th-century time loop, all modern smartphones and technology are instantly fried. Attempting to walk down the exit highway causes space to bend, dropping panicked tourists right back where they started. As night falls, the village is overrun by Draugar. Swollen, corporeal Viking dead driven by ancient malice and greed. The physical monsters are only half the nightmare. The true curse of the village lies in its ancient engine of Fate: a cosmic force, subtly forcing them to reenact an ancient, bloody tragic script they cannot escape. They must race against a ticking clock to find a legendary thread of the Norns and stitch their way out before the ancient wheel of destiny forces them to destroy one another.

I’m currently going through a lot of heavy stuff, personally. I don’t really wanna say much because I don’t want to accidentally trigger some on and because it’s about to become a legal matter, but the fact is, I’m stressed out a lot lately.

Remember that recent side story - Evernit meloride story? They go on a road trip with the MC, the concerts, all that…

I didn’t play through the other stories so I don’t know if something similar happened with the other LI, but in Zayne’s version of the story, they lie together and watch a recording of the “everglow” which I assume is a sort of northern lights type experience…?

I wanted to replicate that moment for myself in real life. In the beginning, it was just because I liked Zanye and he’s become one of my top comfort characters since I’ve been playing the game. I actually became more health aware and managed to change my diet to something healthy thanks to simply remembering Zayne’s character and what he basically represents. Aka, a doctor - healthcare, and so on. I was barely ever underweight, but I’ve always been heavily malnourished up until the past year or so and I would struggle so much with it, going back and forth, failing over and over again. Basically, I’m trying to remind everyone reading this that there’s nothing wrong with having comfort characters and it might actually save you in the end, in case anyone has ever made you feel like you’re weird for liking what you like. It’s not. It’s incredibly healthy, actually. As long as you don’t become so obsessed with someone fictional that you can’t function without getting depressed that they aren’t “real”… yeah, I’ve been there too, lol… excuse me, I went on a ramble.

I wanted to recreate the moment in that particular side story so I got this little light projector to recreate the lights. I don’t remember what it’s called so I left a picture of it below that you can go google image reverse search to find where to buy one if you’re interested. The recording makes the lights seem like they’re moving a bit faster than they are in real life, but there are multiple speeds to choose from if you’d like them to move slower or faster than that. I just wanted to share it in case anyone also liked the idea and wanted to attempt recreating that mom from the game. I don’t know it, for me, is the fact it makes me think of Zayne or because the lights move slowly or a bit of both, but in my personal experience it’s working really well when I feel overwhelmed. I also got this Jasmine scented fragrance spray, which I’ll spray around me whenever I use the projector, which also makes everything even better. The scent is light and mostly just smells really clean with a hint of a floral scent. I feel like someone else who also has a really sensitive sense of smell like myself might be able to enjoy this one without worrying about their nose starting to burn.

That’s really all I wanted to say and share… lights projector and a light Jasmine scented fragrance spray… that’s it.

I’m making this post because I’m genuinely a little freaked out right now after talking to ChatGPT about the Hippocratic oath which is something I do to help stay organized, I entered the love and deepspace game just now and one of the first dialogue lines I get from Zayne is him mentioning the Hippocratic oath after I’d just talked about it on a different app, on a different device, that isn’t even owned by the same company. For reference, I play love and deepspace on my iPad and I talk about these things with ChatGPT on my android phone. At first I got confused, then I freaked out a little bit because of how on point his line was to what I’d just been talking about in real time. I planned to ask if anyone else who’s playing the game has ever gotten this dialogue line before? Or at least had a specific line pop up about something that you’ve just talked about? Though, as you can see in the 9 minute long screen recording below, I couldn’t get him to say it again, not even once. Then I was like, maybe infold added new dialogue lines, but why would he mention the Hippocratic oath? Like, I know he’s a doctor, but it’s still kind of random for him to talk about that subject specifically on top of the fact that he only said it once and right after I’d been talking about it. The game wasn’t even open when I was talking about it either, btw. Then I thought it might be the app listening in the way we see some other apps do, but infold has never talked about doing that to my knowledge, nor have I seen anyone else who plays the game ever mentioning something similar happening to them? And tailored ads doesn’t normally work that way either. The way it typically works is by relying on data from the same device. If the game was listening in, it would have to actively collecting data from a completely separate device. If infold was doing that, more people would’ve caught it by now, no? Not to mention it’s not an ad it’s literally one of his Home Screen dialogue lines and IT WON’T SHOW UP AGAIN. Please let me know if anyone else has experienced this too because idk how I feel about this 😭💀 btw, the video is just to prove he won’t say it again no matter how many times I tap on him.

I’m making this post after the Sylus banner that just ended as of yesterday…? Oct. 30th. 2024?

I like Sylus, but I’m mostly a Zayne main, so I wasn’t going to pull on his last banner event even though I really wanted his limited memory. I only did it because I was 19 pulls away from getting a guaranteed 5🌟, so I decided to do a single 10 pull just to see if I could be so lucky as to get it, and I actually did. I ended up spending more to get the pose, etc, stopping when I was 33 pulls away from another guaranteed 5🌟 wanting to wait for the next event so I could pull for Zayne, which I just did a moment ago. How long did it take me to get Zayne’s new limited memory? 20 pulls. How much of my real money did I have to spend? 0. And I’m still left with 660 diamonds as well as 2 wishes.

I know it’s not always easy to get wishes to spend so you can be close to a guaranteed 5🌟 when the banners are happening, but maybe instead of saving wishes and diamonds up ahead of time, it’s better to just try to get as close to the next guarantee 5🌟 as possible before the start of each banner.

Now, it’s just a theory.

I can’t be 100% sure that I’m not just being incredibly lucky recently yet.

But I do have 2 banners back-to-back where I did get the limited banner memories like that to show for.

At the end of the day, I just wanted to get it out there in case I’m actually on to something here to help other LADS players. Plz don’t kill me if it doesn’t work for you, lol. I also realize it won’t work the same if it’s a multi-banner, but it might make it easier to get at least one of the memories in those instances, too. I’ll try to screen record the next limited event for better proof
