Abt the whole Valko thing, I wrote something in the official server that Iām gonna post here as well jic something happens.
Honestly my main worry is the legal side of things as there was a VERY small but vocal group that got the Chinese state involved. I feel like the pressure was more political/legal than because of money.
Honestly this is messed up an all sides imo. This isnāt the first time that one of infoldās games got sent downhill due to political reasons. Ladsā predecessor (MLQC) had an issue in 2021 where one of the VAs was fired due to an accidental political message. I doubt he knew that what he said would result in him being fired, but Chinese laws would have destroyed the company had they not fired him. This drama resulted in a large percentage of people leaving the game and all of the VAs quitting the game (two in good graces with the company, two in bad graces) and being replaced. The game went steadily until they had to make the change to partial voice acting, but still did not make enough money. The game went EOS this March.
Right now, the issue, just like last time, is the lack of communication from infold. Rather than fully explaining their decision with something as simple as āDue to legal matters we cannot move forward with Valkoā they try to keep it vague. Now the community is split between people blaming infold and people blaming the CN girlies when I feel like itās more nuanced than that.
Yes infold is an greedy company but unlike most of their decisions this doesnāt feel like it was done purely because of money. Their office building was sent literal manure which is a huge health hazard and people were wishing death to them via the chrysanthemums. There were news reports on them, a detail in-game that was there for a while was suddenly the main point of attention. But they could and should have done more. Their PR team is shit
There are some CN girlies who are celebrating Valkoās removal, but others are grieving just like us. The people who harassed infold were very few, but even 10 can raise an eyebrow. Blaming all of them will be just as toxic and cruel when the vast majority are actual well adjusted people
Rather than placing the blame onto one group (CN Girlies, Infold, etc) itās important for us to work together to try and solve this. Send emails, sign petitions, write posts, etc. Donāt spread hate.
But above ALL else make sure to focus on yourselves. I sincerely doubt this issue will be solved in the next 24h. If this really stresses you out then take a step back from social media (especially twt, itās a dumpster fire over there. Saw one person call another brain dead for liking Valko and blamed both Valko and infold for all of this. I will not be including them in the sources to not cause unnecessary drama). Take care of yourselves, drink water, go to sleep, cry if you need to, engage in other hobbies, etc. Your mental health is more important than this game. If you canāt take action without worsening your own mental health then donāt
Lads will not reach EOS any time soon. They were able to keep MLQC running for 5 years, I know theyāll try their best to keep it alive from a functionality point of view.
Infold, if youāre somehow reading this, a small update could calm things down. Legally, idk how much you can say, but even a simple āDear Hunters, We cannot discuss all of our reasons behind everything due to current legal matters. I hereby lodge a formal protest. Please do not brush this off with official rhetoric; please record this directly and escalate it to higher authorities.
The sudden removal of a character that had already been announced constitutes false advertising, breach of trust, and a violation of the consumer contract. Players invested time, emotion, and money in preparation based on the official preview; unilaterally removing the character is a serious violation of consumer rights, and we reserve the right to pursue all legal remedies.
This does nothing to improve the current public perception; it will only cement the label of āuntrustworthyā even more firmly. Not only will it fail to recover revenue, but it will also make it clear to all observers that your company can arbitrarily renege on its promises.
Our demands are clear and non-negotiable:
First, Ao Yin must be released immediately as the official male lead, with all previously announced promotional materials, card artwork, storylines, and companion eventsānot a single one omitted;
Second, the official team of *Love & Deep Space* must issue a formal, public, and sincere apology to all players who love Ao Yin.
Please provide a substantive response to the above two points.
i know who to blame. i remember reading something about infold having a new team to handle the whole li project. so, i guess, first time dealing with mean, cruel hate, they chickened out and cancelled valko.

thereās just so much incompetence all around. from valkoās āhere damnā release announcement to assuming that his release would make the hundreds of legitimate complaints about the game disappear. thereās just so much naivety and arrogance and avarice into infoldās strategy that as long as theyāre producing something, everything is unicorns and rainbows, and fans will forget their concerns about the game and other characters theyāve been attached to for 2.5 years.
that theyād choose to remove valko entirely speaks to just how irate some players were, but god. i just canāt fathom it. if they were working on him for as long as they claimed, surely theyāre losing so much time and effort and money and so many resources? and what about the fans who werenāt irate and genuinely anticipated his release? theyāve pumped out all this promo and purposefully gotten players attached to him just to pull the rug out from under them. the people they were planning to siphon money from like crazy upon his release
why not continue with his release and earnestly commit to fixing the gameās other problems? why not devote equal time and resources to all love interests? why not prioritize the main story over sims 3 gameplay no offense cause it was cute? if players were concerned about him ruining their pulls, why not adjust the pulling system? every aspect of this situation had a solution. but when god created the lads leadership team he dropped their vials of competence and hoped no one would notice (we noticed.)
and last but not least iām a really hard sell on the argument that his character and story elements presented thus far were ātoo darkā becauseā¦look at the other stuff in this game
WE ALL couldn't fathom why they decided to do this, we've been questioning this; why's taking an even more huge disadvantage becomes their solution???? not to mention the added backlash from us who loves valko.
they need to fix their internal jeez think of those whose part of valko's production team š«¤
And that's the part that's making me lose my fucking mind.
We lost an entire section of the MAIN STORY.
The livestream literally told us Valko's release was going to reveal more about the Aethercoreāone of the biggest mysteries in Love and Deepspace and something that's been central to the plot from the very beginning.
So now what?
You think they can just delete him and nothing changes?
Do people genuinely think you can rip out an entire story arc without consequences?
Everything that was supposed to be revealed through Valko now has to be rewritten, redistributed, or outright cut. The main story is going to have to be retconned. Future updates are going to have to be reworked. Characters may have to be rewritten just to fill the gap he leaves.
If you're celebrating this because you "won," I sincerely hope you understand what you've actually cheered for.
No because what the actual fuck was that decision?

I'm not saying people shouldn't have been angry about the 731 reference. They absolutely had every right to be. Unit 731 is one of the darkest chapters in history and if that reference was made carelessly, then yes, people deserved an apology and an explanation.
But explain to me how Valko became the sacrificial lamb here.
Who exactly does this help?
The people who were hurt by the reference? They still deserve accountability.
The people who were excited for Valko? Congratulations, you just told them to go fuck themselves.
The developers who spent who knows how long creating an entirely new LI? Their work gets deleted overnight.
So what was the goal here?
Because this doesn't feel like taking responsibility. It feels like corporate damage control.
Fix the story.
Rewrite the chapter.
Delete the offending reference.
Delay the release.
Fire whoever thought using 731 and 611 was acceptable if you have to.
But deleting an ENTIRE CHARACTER because of a mistake in ONE PART OF THE GAME is such an absurd overreaction that I genuinely can't wrap my head around it.
I'm just so unbelievably disappointed. because Infold's response was somehow even worse than the original mistake.
We lost a character.
The developers lost their work.
The fandom lost something people had been excited about.

disappointed is an understatement for the fact that a vocal minority of parasocial liars essentially throwing a week long tantrum is whatās finally stuck.
im extra disappointed from a game standpoint because i know there was going to be a lot of lore added and explained with his introduction bc of his position that weāre now missing out on, and the potential delays in already long awaited updates that re-workshopping this change will cause.
also just genuinely surprised because at the very least, from a business standpoint, all the sunken cost for him alone feels like it shouldāve been the last resort for them to do this and not the first solution, since theyāll never make any money back on him now.
last but most important, not only are the players impacted here, but this widespread tantrum and attempt to strong arm a company over a game is having real life impacts on the writing team that was hired for Valko, all the voice actors and cosplayers and motion capture actors for him, and an entire design and animation team Iām sure. so yay, you nuked the real world just to get your fake world to be exactly as you want it ā¦
their internal is a mess, doesn't make them sounds professional at all. really, couldn't they spend enough money to protect their own hardworks? infold acts like they're the victim, while literally could've bail themselves out of the trouble.
those haters claims that they're concerned about infold's decision by being unprepared, etc. etc., are probably not genuine at all. they're just stubborn rich babies who believes the world should listen to them sigh
