I’m rewatching Steven Universe and one thing that’s FASCINATING to me that I never noticed is that for the first like 10 episodes of the show, it kinda tricks you into thinking that Steven and Lars are gonna have like a SpongeBob-Squidward dynamic where ostensibly Steven thinks that they’re best friends but doesn’t realize that Lars doesn’t like him and is kinda a douche but then in Lars in the Cool Kids Steven hits Lars with the ‘how DARE you talk about my mother, who is GONE and I didn’t even KNOW HER. She cared about EVERYTHING, even ASSHOLES like you, and THIS MOSS THAT ATE OUR FRIENDS AND IS TRYING TO EAT US’ and then in Joking Victim Sadie is like ‘but….he’s kinda nice sometimes………I can’t fire him 🥺🥺🥺’ and Steven is like ‘girl, get up, this guy SUCKS, let’s poison his food with ghost pepper extract’

I have a REALLY stupid Steven Universe AU idea where in the episode "Steven And The Stevens" instead of using the time thing (by mistake) Steven ends up keeping it somewhere safe n then later in the episode "Horror Club" he takes it with him n goes sumn sumn "I wish I was there to help Lars and Ronaldo stay friends" or sumn and BOOM time travel n shit n now we got lil Lars n lil Ronaldo. And. And Steven. And eventually to try to get back home Steven's like "I wish I was in the future" n he FUCKED UP bc now him n the other two are somewhere in the middle of Steven Universe Future and. And I dunno. Wha. I like my Townies.
