It’s been a while since I actually played The Sims 3, and, thinking about it, I don’t know if I’m capable of having a healthy relationship with this game. Every time I get back into it, it takes over everything and I stop doing much else. And I’ve been really productive these past few weeks...
Yesterday, though, I was exhausted and just wanted to unwind a bit. So I thought I’d relax by organizing my cc (for some reason, that’s actually calming to me). But of course, that little break turned into staying up until 3 a.m. I had been doing so well before that.
I think I'll quit for good. I feel like I’ve already done just about everything this game has to offer in terms of playability, and, besides, what I was actually enjoying is tweaking buildings and sims, and downloading CC, but all that just ends up tanking the game’s performance.
It’s wild how much time this game can eat up without you even noticing. And at this point, it doesn’t even feel like fun anymore, just a compulsion. Like I'm stuck in this cycle of tweaking and downloading and troubleshooting, without getting anything back in return.
There’s just so much about it that ends up being frustrating. Like, Open for Business was a great EP, but everything similar in The Sims 3 from the store is lazy, buggy, and never works the way I want it to. The community at tumblr inspires me a lot, but I feel like we play different games lol.
I even caught myself thinking about trying out The Sims 4... but honestly? Maybe I should just play something else entirely.
My last addition to my last save. Placing Mas Juriol in Lago Simiori. Such a great world and an amazing lot. But I never even got around to play with my household there. That kind of says it all, doesn’t it?

STEP ONE PART 1 First I chose my image I want to edit and select FILTER>NOISE>REDUCE NOISE to smooth the image to get rid of the choppy edges on the image. STEP ONE PART 2 I then put the setting on about 6.
STEP THREE I then using the sharpen brush at around 50% strength I sharpen things like the walls, plants, flooring and roof so it stands out a little for and looks clearer.
STEP FOUR I then click on the ACTIONS BUTTON and choose THIS ACTION and select the SUNLIGHT ACTION not SUNDOWN ACTION and play around the opacity or hide or change some of the layers to fit the image but for this one I left it how it is. Also the angle and the way your picture is taken will also affect the outcome of the image so not all of your images will look the same! STEP FIVE You’re done! ^_^ I hope you managed to understand what I was trying to say. Also I’d love if you could tag me and see how you use my tutorial! *SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT I DONT HAVE A STEP TWO JUST IGNORE IT GUYS IT STILL MAKES SENSE OR JUST PRETEND STEP 3 IS STEP TWO AND SO ON, I’M REALLY FORGETFUL SO THATS THE REASON AND I’M TOO LAZY TO SORT IT OUT.
TS3 “cannot change style” glitch: A SOLUTION
I was very happily trying jools-simming’s nice tutorial when the dreaded “cannot change style” occured. Saying that I was extremely frustrated is an understatement, but as I discovered by the usual trial-and-error method, there’s a way to fix it!
Make sure you have Nraas’ Debug Enabler installed.
In Live Mode, click on the not-recolorable counter/island/object and select Nraas > Debug Enabler > Options: [object name].
Then select Object > Reset Textures > This object.
Et voilà, you can now use CAST again and change the style of the object as you wish.
Publishing this because who knows, it could be useful to someone else experiencing the same (annoying) glitch :)
