Poor Jarvis, getting digitally drugged by Fury

Tony Stark isn’t the type of person who technically has to put up with people snarking at him, but he does, and he loves it. I mean, he programmed Jarvis to sass him back. He trusted - and then fell in love with - Pepper (Pepper, who doesn’t fawn over him and says that she wasn’t crying because Tony came home, but because she hates job hunting.) His best friend is Rhodes who never follows Tony blindly and just goes “I’m holding onto your suit,” and takes off despite protests. Even Happy, as dutiful as he is, is blunt with his boss. And Tony chooses them, when he could so easily have people who put him on a pedestal. For a character who frequently gets called an egomaniac, Tony Stark constantly surrounds himself by people who sass him, who aren’t afraid to argue with him, and who cut him down to size when it’s called for…And that’s pretty telling.
