the wilds will forever be special to me because I’ve never really seen a show portray trichotillomania in such an accurate & honest way (to me personally).

i’ve had trich on & off since i was 7. it got better for a bit, but then shit hit the fan for me when i was 17. sarah’s portrayal is on point with my experience. it’s not a constant thing every single second of the day, but when im stressed, overstimulated, under stimulated, etc., it happens. in a way, it gives you a feeling of something that you CAN control. when my wife notices me doing it, she does exactly what fatin did. like leah, I primarily beeline to my eyebrows the moment i start getting in my head about literally anything.

fatin cracking a lighthearted joke about it in the beginning was great too. once she realized the gravity of the situation though, she locked in to help get leah back on track.

i am diagnosed with OCD, bipolar II, auDHD, among other things. so seeing someone who exhibits characteristics of my diagnoses gives me such a deeper love for this show ❤️

#THIS THIS THIS #I have excoriation/dermatillomania and have so many scars from it #I have mild trich compared to that but still to have this condition portrayed and treated with love was world shifting #that scene where fatin takes her hand has me screaming into the void and crying #op I feel you so hard #I don’t think I’ll ever see a severe excoriation character on screen or even in books but this meant a lot #I read something once where it said excoriation is a shame based disorder and you want to hide it. that’s why it would be monumental to #see it represented. same with hair picking #don’t get me started on leah bipolar rep 😭#the girls addressed/worked with the behaviors the best that they could and death threat scene aside fatin was soooooo good with leah #I wish we saw them endgame :(

leatin the vow au where fatin and leah gets into an accident and fatin forgets their entire life together and only vaguely remembers leah from high school as the girl who had an affair with an older man--leah tries to win her over but fatin goes back to her family only to find out they've been estranged this whole time because of her father's numerous affairs she goes back to ask leah about it and she realizes leah is actually the only person who has her best interest at heart since the accident--they fall in love all over again
