The damage is from bomb shrapnel; he’s full of screws, pins, and plates, including a partial restructure of his cheek bone. Half his jaw is metal, and he’s stuck in a permanent snarl.

Despite the eye trauma, he can still see, though sans helmet he can be prone to partial blurriness or astigmatism. Because of damage to the tear duct, he does, in fact, cry blood on that side.

The white/grey hair isn’t a mutation, it’s a shock response. He had black hair like most vode before the accident, medical shaved it all to assess the damage and put him back together (CCs are very expensive), and it grew back in that way.
