There are various sayings about what soul mates are. They have been compared to a variety of things. Eve, however, had her favourites. One of them being that perhaps soulmates were just two beings who were far too stubborn to stop loving each other. Eve and Tom were two parts of a whole who slotted together in every form of the word. Whether it was in the way she curled into his body at night, the way her laughter would always compliment his or the way that her lips seemed to always find their way into his dimple, the two complimented each other extremely well, or at least she liked to think so. She kept close to him in public, her arms snaking through his own, eyes sneaking peeks at his face. She was not with him for superior purposes, on any level of course, but she would surely be an idiot if she were to deny how beautiful he was. His face was a map that she had memorized, each of his features being a destination that she happily wanted to stay at.
Sliding into his apartment, she made a beeline for the kettle. Everywhere felt oddly familiar to her, everywhere that he was. He felt like home, he carried it around with him. Thomas Wallaby had become Eveleigh Willow’s resting point and she wouldn’t have preferred it any other way. As his arms wrapped around her waist, she could feel her body instantaneously moulding into his, as if that was the spot that she was meant to be. She moved her head slightly, a dopey look on her face as she pressed her lips to his cheek, pausing for a moment to press her forehead against him, inhaling deeply. There was something oddly comforting about the way that he smelled, it was earthy, it was warm, it almost felt kind. “You’re losing boyfriend brownie points for that one,” she teased as she grinned up at him, “If we’re following the path of movie cliches, surely you should have at least offered.” She poked out her tongue, pressing her lips to his quickly before turning around to face the tea. He was relentless though, his lips pressing against her neck causing her to sigh, “Haven’t even been home for two minutes.”
Happiness. People often discussed the trials and tribulations that occurred when finding it, yet she had so happily, quite literally, stumbled upon it. Stumbled upon him. There was always a hole in her heart that was carved out by her mother, one that she previously thought had been lost forever, had disappeared to wherever her Mum had. Gone with the wind. Little did she know, that her heart was just being readied to receive the amount of love she had for him. She was overflowing, you could see it on her face, she oozed with affection and pure love for the boy, you’d have to be an idiot to not see it. Shimmying out of her pants and yanking her own top over her head, she quickly accepted the offer of his jumper, wiggling into it before moving into where she belonged, his arms. His chest was strong, and how she did love peppering kisses down it when she could, sponging adoration in the form of marks down his chest. Taking a sip of her tea, she placed it on her, well his, nightstand, leaning into the kiss on her forehead. “Me?” she quirked, her voice soft and low as the two lovers exchanged words, “You.” She leaned forward, pressing her lips against his for a moment and indulging in the feel of their two bodies fitting together like puzzle pieces. Pulling away, she turned so that her back was pressed against his torso, her head lulling back onto his shoulder but turning so that it could gaze upon him, her hands wondering up and down his leg, the other playing with his fingers. “Us. To look forward into the future, you must look back to the past. And if all I see is you, us, in the future, which I do, I will happily start looking into the past.”
Fitting herself underneath his chin, her eyes fluttered closed as she let out a soft humming noise, bringing their intertwined hands up to her chest and pressing her lips against his knuckles, “I remember the first time we held hands,” she whispered, “You were very smooth, extremely so. I remember that we were at—.. I don’t know. The world just fades when I’m with you, I lose clarity. Uhm—.. Hah. We were at, somewhere doing something but I remember that my arms were around you, just like—..” she adjusted her body so that she was no longer in between his legs, instead at his side, arms wrapped around him, “Just like this, and I was looking up at you, just like—.. Just like this. And you were looking down at me—..” her breath hitched in her throat for a moment, mouth slightly opened before she shook her head, continuing with her sentence, “Just like that—.. You. You reached up—..” replicated his actions, she ran her left hand through his hair, down so that she was cupping his cheek, “I thought you were going to kiss me—.. But instead your hand wondered down my shoulder and held my hand. I won’t lie, I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get to kiss the lips that I’d been staring at all day.”
