Don't you just love it when your dad does something in the house that you know nothing about, and then when it's done he says to me "It'd be nice if I got some help once in a while". I've been going through this for more years than I can remember, him refusing to tell me he needs help with things, and then having a go at me afterwards for not helping him with whatever he was doing, when I had no idea he needed help at all. When I say the same thing I always say "You didn't ask me for help and I didn't know you needed it" he always says "I shouldn't have to ask". So when I'm upstairs and he's downstairs doing something without my knowledge, I'm supposed to be psychic and "just know"? Ok then Dad. He's been doing this for years and years now, even going back to when I was in my teenage years. Even when my mother was alive, she was continually saying to him "If you want Tom to help you with something, ask him!" but of course he was too stubborn to ask me, and then used it as an excuse to tell me off and attempt to make me feel guilty for not helping him, when I never knew he needed help in the first place!! I refuse to feel bad for him struggling with something, when he refuses to ask me to help him. But it still hurts when he continually makes me out to be selfish and that I don't care that he's a 70 year old man who hasn't got long left...
