kind of unrelated but recently I’ve finally understood what people meant when they said “protect your energy at all costs”. I’d hear it all the time but never really understand it. I thought it sounded so dramatic and cliche. but me self-reflecting, I’ve realized over the past few years I’ve always forced myself into a box just to fit into other people’s lives. I was begging for love and attention in all the wrong people and places and refused to pay attention to red flags and take no for an answer. sometimes that made me the bad, toxic person in other people’s lives. I was also shedding bits and pieces of myself that made me who I am so I could be what I thought others wanted me to be. then afterwards when things didn’t work out I’d have an identity crisis. now that I’m slowly feeling whole and myself again, instead of me trying to fit into someone else’s life, I’ve shifted my thinking to, who is going to make a little room for me in their own lives? protect your energy at all costs and the people who will match your energy will find you.
