You know, with all the post-episode 8 fics where they bring Caine back but take his powers away, it would be nice to atleast have one where Caine calls them out for them coming into HIS home and making him feel unwelcome in the very place he made for himself. I would also have loved to see this addressed in some shape or form in the show itself

As for fanfics, I do hope the fandom explores this further.

I'm admittedly working on a one-shot that tackles this a little, a finale divergence where Caine doesn't discover the Wi-Fi connection and just wanders back to the circus, defeated and giving up on ever connecting with the humans; but refusing to leave HIS home that HE carved out for himself ...but no promises I'll actually finish it haha.

Flowery was GREAT. I LOVED how he challenged Ralsei and brought out a different side to him then we're used to seeing. I love how he and the other flowers take on a similar to role to us, using the power of friendship to defeat a "bad guy" to save their world. The question of which Dark World deserves to continue existing - why is Castle town more legit when, to Flowery and the others, their Dark World is how they're existing as they are. Flowery brought so much to the table. He's a sassy bitch and I love him and I miss him and the other flowers already.

YEAH that Moon thing... you lost me.

I liked the Bluetooth stuff as a little one off joke in reference to the VAs being married. Very cute and endearing.

But to lean into it, especially after Caine got nothing in terms of character interaction with the cast, it felt like a last minute "oh but wait, Caine isn't alone he had someone alllll along".

Like, sorry, I just see a lonely AI who made imaginary friends to talk to cause there was no one else.

Maybe I'm just against the idea of AIs randomly gaining sentience over time for no reason when it seemed like Caine was a unique case due to Scratch's abstract thinking and genius coding.

And Gumigoo only waking up cause he literally saw his own model. Bubble could be brushed off as either mixed with the blue AI or representing Caine's darkest thoughts.

But the moon and the sun have no reason to be more than mindless NPCs / glorified imaginary friends for an AI desperate for connection... so to slap it on at the end felt almost insulting like... yeah, we set up a character desperate for connections and being rejected by the human cast who will do NOTHING to meet him in the middle, but hey. at least he has the Moon. Like... great. Wonderful, thanks for the nothing -_-

Sorry it just kind of breaks my heart that Caine's fear and insecurity about being loved, existing as a lonely creature trying to connect but not able to communicate 'right', were all true in the end. He died and no one gave a remote fuck. Not even his creator. Caine's death was brushed off and no one even bothered to let him know the deletion was an accident afterwards which makes me wonder why they bothered making it an accident if it was never going to be addressed. Here I was, thinking it being an accident was about how Kinger cared about his creation and never intended to hurt him. But considering it isn't brought up or cleared and there's not even a freaking conversation between Kinger and Caine, it's like.. why did you bother making it a mistake? No one in the circus gave a shit about Caine in the end. And yeah, I'm sorry, but maybe I'm upset on his behalf that no one cares about him truly but he's so desperate for attention and love he'll take the crumbs offered and treat it like a feast. (Also shout out to caine's VA for apparently caring about Caine more than the writers ever did)
