This year, the Dwayne McDuffie award for Best Kids' Comic was given to Svetlana Chmakova, who wrote and drew the manga Awkward for Yen Press. Longtime TOKYOPOP fans will recognize that Ms. Chmakova also wrote Dramacon, one of our favorites among our Global Manga titles.

A manga was published as a tie-in with Finding Nemo’s release in Japan. TOKYOPOP put out a “Cine-Manga” book in 2003 in connection with the US release of the film. However, the Nemo manga has never seen the light of day in English…until now.

Year after year, it seems like Nintendo neglects the Metroid franchise. Despite being one of the company's oldest and most critically acclaimed IPs, it appears Nintendo simply doesn't know how to move the franchise forward.
