Pope Leo is letting American bishops entirely ban trans healthcare for both minors and adults in all Catholic-owned hospitals and clinics, and stop coverage for trans healthcare through Catholic-affiliated health insurance plans!!

People are having surgeries, for which they were on waitlists for years, suddenly cancelled. Hormones no longer covered, their clinicians no longer able to prescribe them. Considering in some states Catholic-owned healthcare organizations make up to a third of the market, as it were, this is a HUGE issue.

I think I hate tumblr.

The idea that "having fragile masculinity" is inherently a personality defect or moral failing is patriarchal. So much of this kind of bullshit is people taking fundamentally patriarchal ideas of manhood (for example, that men being vulnerable is a defect or moral failing) and defining it around slightly more feminist values.

Like, the only thing that is different from bog standard patriarchy here is the inclusion of "macho." But like, the idea that there are "fragile" men who fail to be "real men" with unshakeable firm masculinity, and they also secretly have small penises and are biologically less manly compared to "real men" whose real manhood can be located in their large penises... babe that's just toxic masculinity. The same "macho" shit you hate those men for, you yourself engage in, just a little to the left.

Blocking someone doesn't keep you from seeing their posts.

Blocking someone doesn't mean you won't ever see them again. You might see Blazed posts, if you don't subscribe & also have Blazes turned off. You might see reblogs of their posts or posts they have added to.

You can, however, avoid seeing their posts by adding their username to your list of filtered terms!

This has been an option since at least August 1, 2023. If you haven't updated your app in 3 years, genuinely, what the fuck, but also, you can also access it on the web, either mobile or desktop. But also you should update the app bc it's probably a security liability at this point.

To filter out an account/username, you have to use the Filtered Post Content option, not the Filtered Tags option. That’s sorta obvious, but OP’s tutorial only mentioned the tag list.

If that account is present somewhere in a reblog chain, the entire reblog chain is hidden behind the filtered content—e.g., if you filtered out the non-OP reblogger’s account name in the above reblog chain, all you’d see is the topmost post header section before the entire rest of the post/reblog chain was covered with a grey box.

Presumably, if that account changes its name, it then escapes the filter, because the filter just acts on text strings and has no concept of an account name.

Also, per the help document linked in #2, the filters only work within the Dashboard-like areas of tumblr, not if you visit individual blogs, e.g., myawesomemutal.tumblr.com.
