a soft nod as his smile shined through between the lights, holding her hand tenderly “－pleasure to meet you, ellie. i need another drink .. mine’s broken. ” he pointed to his own shirt, trying to make sense of that horrible joke. sometimes it was like min didn’t know how to socialize. rubbing the back of his neck, min observed her as he was trying to find out what she was saying; the music was too loud maybe he should have kept running “－honestly ?? the only people i try to run from are hollywood execs and my parents. but i do know how to run from my problems so .. i think if i left you behind, i would at least go back to gather the pieces. ”

The joke was bad but it made Ellie snort in laughter. “That’s very kind of you. I think my mothers would hunt me down if I tried to run from them.” Most definitely, if Ellie didn’t message at least once a day they instantly thought she was dead in a ditch and began messaging her sister and her manager. “I’ll get you a drink in thanks then! But the next round is on you,” she offered, leaning closer to Min to make sure he could hear her as the DJ dropped the beat. The music wasn’t really to her taste so she would need a drink with her joint to get loose. “We should do shots too!”

It’s not really a subject that Jaesun wanted to talk about, not after having cried about it for a few days straight, glad that he was actually on a break when it happened and not promoting or whatever or else he would have had a breakdown in front of everyone and that was not a need. The way Jaesun spoke made Ellie worry slightly, she had never heard of the two of them fighting this bad though she doubted Joon could ever hate Jaesun. As if, she thought to herself, entirely sure of Joon’s affections for the other boy but it really wasn’t something she should discuss without the other being there. So she simply smiled at him, squeezing his arm gently in a show of solidarity. “Only the best for you, munchkin!” Running to her side of the car, Ellie connected her phone to the car before handing the device to Jaesun, a serious look on her face, “This gonna be a five-minute drive max so pick a song wisely.” Starting the car, she reversed onto the main street, almost hitting a shrub but avoiding it last second, driving off.

Lucille wasn’t about to say the I love you to her best friend, so she was content with the fact that their friendship had reached such a level of seniority that she didn’t have to. It was one of the few relationships she was- usually- on good terms with. “They are harmless, they look like they’ve had a thousand plastic surgeries, honey. I think their faces would melt off if I actually hit them.” For a model, she had never actually indulged in plastic surgery- although, when it came to her weight, she had thought about it at one time. Fortunately, she wasn’t stupid. “Ellie, I get the feeling from these parties of yours that the leprechaun man was not about to go on a murderous rampage after you… I highly doubt he was that tiny, either,” Lucille mused as she nursed her glass of vodka, raising her eyebrows as she ranted about him. Talking shit about music while trying to hook up with her didn’t sound like the smoothest move in the world, she had to admit. Laughing at her statement that she followed up with, she grabbed Ellie’s arm and pulled her down into her lap, teasing, “If you were trying to hook up with me, you should have just said so. I’m the only cute model here.”

“Don’t be mean, Luce,” Ellie fully pouted at her best friend, knowing her plead would go unheard but still trying. If there was something the blonde wasn’t good at it was being snarky but Lucy did it for the both of them so it all balanced out in the end. “Well, I was about to die of boredom so it’d still count as murder! But you’re right, he was of average height. I think so at least. What is average, really?” To be fair, Ellie barely remembered the man by now, the weed making her mind hazy. Giggling as she allowed her best friend to pull her down, Ellie settled on Lucy’s lap happily, giving the girl’s nose a quick peck. “You are! The cutest, really. Though I’m always down for a cuddle,” she smiled widely at Lucy, wiggling her butt on the girl’s lap to get comfy and making grabby hands at the vodka.

Laughing along with her friend, Ellie nodded in response, a smirk on her lips. She was a pro at flirting over Instagram at this point. “Gucci owns my soul, to be honest,” the blonde agreed, taking another long drag off her joint. Her mind was starting to get proper hazy, skin buzzing with the combination of weed and booze. “Oh, I’d love that! I think I’ve worn something like that once actually.” Ellie couldn’t remember for sure, her memory only worked for random shit and song lyrics, and that was before she began smoking weed at age nineteen. “Should we go somewhere? I feel like dancing but this music isn’t doing anything for me.”

"I think I wouldn’t dislike him as much if he actually spoke in riddles, would’ve probably made more sense than the bullshit he was spouting,” she snorted with laughter, pulling out a blunt from her pocket and smoothing it out. “Well, your Batman is the only one I’ve seen since George Clooney so I guess you’re my favorite now!” Ellie quite liked animations but she never really did pay much attention to the credits to know which actors voiced which characters. “That red wig really did nothing for her.” If there was one thing the blonde knew more about than music it was definitely wigs. “Don’t kill me but... I haven’t actually seen that last one,” she grinned apologetically before quickly adding, “But I loved Arrietty! Who did you voice in that?”

“So why’d you have to hide from this alleged prick? You owe him money or somethin’?” Sasha asked with a grin. She folded her arms over her chest, studying the other woman, “I mean… true. But you can always spin it. That’s my favorite part, adding something scandalous to keep em talkin’? Incredible. That way there’s so many outrageous rumors that no one will ever really know what’s real or not.” She shrugged, “My night’s better now that I’ve stumbled upon you. Well, I guess, you stumbled into me. But, still, the statement stands.” 

“He just kept talking shit about pop music and trying to explain how I should transition into something more ‘profound’, like who are you dude? And then he tried to kiss me so I ran,” Ellie shrugged, taking a long drag from her blunt. “That’s... kinda brilliant? And slightly evil too.” And wasn’t that a perfect description for what Ellie thought of Sasha. “Oh, cool. Same, I guess?” Wow, very eloquent, Elliot. “Sorry, where are my manners, you smoke?” She offered the lit blunt to Sasha, smiling timidly.

“I fucking hate you, Ellie,” she retorted, accepting the cigarette from her and twiddling it between her fingers while she spoke to her best friend. Her heart would recover, her liver might not. She was already several glasses deep and the night had already started. Several glasses isn’t enough, needless to say. “I think you’ve had enough of what you’re smoking,” the model told her as she took a drag from the now lit cigarette with a nod of thanks in her direction. “Saving?” Her brows furrowed at that, baffled by how Ellie could need saving at her own damn party. Lucille’s blank expression was hopefully enough of a what the fuck are you talking about? before she reached the verbal one. “Oh my god, no, that’s– disgusting. Mostly disgusting because everyone here looks like they’re one foot in the grave or on cocaine. I’m drunk but I’m not that drunk. Yet. What did you need saving from? The leprechaun?”

"Hate you too, babe,” Ellie laughed throwing an arm around her friend’s shoulders, meaning exactly the opposite. She always got extra friendly and giggly when high on weed. “Hey! Don’t talk shit about my guests, they’re mostly harmless!” To be honest, Ellie actually knew about one-third of the people currently partying in her backyard but that was just a standard night in the Sawyer household. “Yes, the leprechaun, Luce! Have you not seen the movie with Jennifer Aniston? It’s like a classic! But this one was talking shit about pop music while trying to hook up with me which was just ugh, not gonna happen.” Ellie might be promiscuous but she had standards even when high and being fashionable was a must. “And I was about to hook up with a cute model too, like come on!”

despite not smoking himself － at least not anymore －, joon recognized the scent as relaxing, almost as if he felt his body unclench after a long day. his eyes were focused on her, despite the constant fog he felt in his head “－aaahh .. that good ?? hm. did you at least had time to ask her for her number ?? ” he took the bottle from her again, giving it a few more goes before lying it on the floor “－but bright green ?? i’ve done my fashion mistakes, but that’s abusing it. ” a chuckle left his lips before turning to her, brow cocking “－of course it’s not asking for too much. then again, some people need to be taught. i once dated a girl who really got me into fashion. ”

“I followed her on Instagram and she followed back, all I gotta do is DM her now,” Ellie wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, chuckling at herself. “Instagram is the true dating app of our generation, like Tinder who?” Taking another drag of the joint, she could feel her body loosen up again, the adrenaline rush from hiding giving way to a floaty feeling. “Aww, that’s cute, she Pretty Woman’d you!” Ellie giggled at the image of Joon as a sugar baby. “I honestly don’t get men who wear basic shit like okay yeah, you could just wear a black suit to the red carpet but where’s the fun in that?! Give me drama, give me pizzazz! Just don’t give me bright green polyester please.”

his mind was filled with nothing but adrenaline as he pushed within the crowd, becoming closer to the stage; when he heard her voice, his head turned over his shoulder, a chuckle leaving his lips “－whoops, sorry again. between getting punched or leaving, i rather leave. ” his shirt was all wet and he wasn’t sure where his friends had stopped, but he finally rested her down and pulled a hand to greet her, a smile covering his features “－i don’t think we were formally introduced. i’m min. ”

“No worries! I’m Elliot but everyone calls me Ellie,” she smiled, shaking hands with Min. “Thanks for not ditching me back there, I don’t think I could’ve taken that dude down on my own.” Chuckling, she reached for cigarette case again, this time managing to light up a joint without having to run from anyone. “Your fight or flight response is insane by the way, quickest thinking I’ve ever seen. Running away from a lot of people in LA, are you?” She offered him the joint as a thank you, always smiling.
